What do you like best about the product?
1) Its high performance in handling large scale data differentiate it from competitors.

Its learnning curve for new user makes it difiicult to understand and it involves high costs in in lisencing and hardware requirements

On behalf of various data engineers I can say that opentext vertics is a solution for datawarehousing and running alaysis on huge datasets with productivity and speed.
All and all this comes up as a effective solution to quickly get results with respect to thousands of rows of data.

While it is suitable for your entire data (lake) this is a complex solution to analyze small data sets and the results might not be satisfactory.

Running analysis, predictive, and other modelling using huge or in casis entire data sets.

What do you like best about the product?
The vertica datawarehouse offers columnar store database structure capable of handling big data workloads
unlike other traditional databases.
This architecture coupled with other efficient parellel processing techniques
allows for exceptional performance when resolving complex OLAP problems
and rightly so that is their USP.
This comes in handy especially when you deal with near real-time stream workloads usecases.
Lastly, they have launched VerticaPylab which is a great addition for empowering ML based solutions

In contrast to alternative tools in market, they have significantly
smaller userbase and hence getting help from online community for issues can be challenging.
After their aquisition from Micro focus to Opentext, there has been few changes in layout in documentation
as well as layout of UI , which creates additional learning curve.
After a certain threshold(of datasize), the operational costs drastically
increases which sometimes is not justifiable

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The goal was to explore the capabilties of datawarehouse and finds its place
in the big list of other established datawarehouse solutions in the market
Specifically for catering the reporting dashboard department and its data requirements.
In contrast to other datawarehouses, we found that integration to reporting
services such as Tableau are highly reliable even for large datasets.

A good analytical tool fir big data analysis
What do you like best about the product?
It is extremely fast than other databases perhaps due to the columnar databse struture. It can be deployed on almost all cloud platform as well along with mainframe. Multiple node failure is very low.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation is not comprehensive and it could be imporved upon. the SaaS solution is only available in AWS and not fro Azure and GCP.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The most important issue these days is the hosting and analyzing trillion of data especially in analytical companies. Vertica is an extremey useful and affordable database making query processing a lot faster than most other databases.

It's great performance in large data analytics, quick query processing, scalability, and advanced analytics capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
Could not find downloads for mac m1. Also It is a bit complex to setup and manage, and the costs are a bit high.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It enhances the efficiency of large-scale data analytics and warehousing and hence provides faster query performance, handles massive data volumes, and supports advanced analytics.

-The configuration on first implementation is easy and through the data analysis features, creating real time data analytics and migration of various data securely with the solution is more reliable and i love the Automation ability on this tool.

I absolutely have no issues with the product and the initial learning curve is short and easy to understand.

-Helpful on business data management and also reports distribution through various departments and the data analysis via the platform is productive.
