In my company, we use Vertica as it's a tool meant to serve as database performance software and to make some selections, including some usual activities on a database revolving around options like select, insert, update, delete, and a few more.

Smart Data Lakehouse for a traditional DBA to learn
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility and cost-efficiency of a data lake with the contextual and high-speed querying capabilities of a data warehouse. Resharding the database as needed Rollback snapshots.
What do you dislike about the product?
No dislike. But to learn this new kind "Lakehouse" takes a little more time for a "traditional" DBA

Our traditional Data Warehouse always have had performance issue due to the over large size. Plus, the new un-structured feature added in, making it very difficult to processing on a lot of things (including daily ETL). We are trying to engage a lot of new tools on the market, OpenText Vertica, the Datalake seems like resolves some of our problems. We are still on exploring new features...

What do you like best about the product?
I personally like theflexibility of vertica's projections of tables.It allows us to modifyprimary projection without altering the tables.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the database setup is quite simple but the documentations could be improved a little bit.For example if 3 nodes are runnind and 1 node is down the other two nodes dont scale up.

Its solving the client side ease of usage. Clients can easily compress and code the data based on their need.

Vertica is an expensive tool.

My company chose Vertica over other products since I think that all the other products we use are meant for the children in our college. I don't exactly know the reason why my company chose Vertica.
What other advice do I have?
I would describe Vertica as a user-friendly product. The documentation part of Vertica is almost the same as the one for MySQL, which we have in our company. The documentation part of Vertica is very friendly enough to use, but I can never say that the documentation area is better.
I don't use ChatGPT to help me with my queries since I try to deal with my issues and queries on my own. I don't want anything improved in the solution as it provides us with everything we require in our IT environment. If I know how to run a query, then the results generated by Vertica turn out to be okay.
The stability offered by Vertica is something that depends on the application and the memory of the product. If you work with Vertica in any of your projects, you will see that it works better for you with much more resources than others. You won't encounter problems with Vertica, especially if your company's architects are better at managing and creating interfaces.
I recommend Vertica to those who plan to use it since it is easy to configure and use. I don't think you would encounter any problems with Vertica. The syntax in Vertica is easy to use and user-friendly, which you can find on Google.
I rate the overall tool a seven out of ten.
Good Analytical Database
What do you like best about the product?
Vertica offers you a very good set of tools to perform analysis on the data.The processing power and the flexibility is one the major points why Vertica is best in class.
What do you dislike about the product?
Historically Vertica has been supported in Enterprise mode, which comes with a lot of limitations. This is being fixed with the introduction of EON mode on public cloud and private infrastructure but the change has been slow. Although we are getting there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ingest and analyze large amount of data. Interface with BI tools to create visualizations of the data and show the value of the solution offered by my company to our customers.
Nice DW solution although not the best
What do you like best about the product?
It is a pretty stable Datawarehouse solution and really manageable in some aspects as many other similar solutions it allows for scale of thousands and thousands of records
What do you dislike about the product?
It has a lot of flaws like sometimes queries would take ages if you are not constantly purging your tables (in case you do a lot of deletes over that table) something I haven't experienced in other solutions like Redshift
