MySQL is a great general purpose and entry level data management system
What do you like best about the product?
MySQL is easy to use and supported on virtually every platform. It supports a wide variety of use cases out of the box, and generally "just works." Community support is prolific, which is really helpful when troubleshooting or architecting solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Performance tuning can be difficult to manage and diagnose. For large and complex applications, MySQL will likely not be the only data system in use due to its scalability or complex query performance. Data storage on disk isn't as good as competitors (e.g. compression). Being a traditional data store, application integration can be more difficult than using a NoSQL-based solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We built ecommerce platforms, AI data stores, and other reporting solutions on MySQL.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider application performance requirements and scaling requirements before choosing MySQL. Do your research on other solutions before choosing MySQL. It can be tempting because it's free and open source, but be aware that there are other flavors of MySQL out there too!

Ease of use. Very easy to create databases.

Not applicable for larger databases hence not scalable

Learning sql has helped me do so much more with the data I use at work. I love writing queries!

Sometimes I think something is going to work and I get the wrong result.

I use it for everything! I love being able to pull random facts and figures to let us know how business is going. I also use it to check for data errors.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is an easy way to set up and use SQL databases for behind the scenes querying as well as integrating with a website.

Great program for all people to use. Very easy and user friendly.

Track progress for different departments Snd use MySQL database.
Great Product for Complex Databases
What do you like best about the product?
The deployment for multiple databases with relationships is key. Was able to rewrite an entire database and create a web app to utilize for employee production.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are really no dislike for this product.

Website database, internal employee database, CATI database programs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have a current backup of all databases if you are converting.
