Intuitive SQL
What do you like best about the product?
Realible, straightforward setup, fast, intuitive, from basic to advance its definitely one of the best sql engines you can choose.
What do you dislike about the product?
When comparing to “heavy” database engines, like nosql, it lacks some performance to deal with bigdata sets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It basically supports everything, from a website to an app.

My Experience with Sql
What do you like best about the product?
It's pretty straightforward to use if you are familiar with SQL
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI seems very boring, maybe add color to it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pulling data from our database
Easy enough for a beginner, powerful enough for whomever
What do you like best about the product?
I started using MySQL simply because our production platform uses it and we didn't like the reporting we were getting. I was able to go from complete novice to a report and process creating junkie in short order. It has transformed the information we share and our ability to rely on actual measurements instead of gut-feeling.
What do you dislike about the product?
While it is easy to use it takes quite a bit of time for the timid and afraid to get comfortable with. I'd love to see a great user-friendly front-end tool for Windows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Where we previously used multiple Excel spreadsheets to track our progress across multiple departments we now rely on our MySQL database and its various tables and triggers to provide us with information. We now have centralized data and have been able to create enough automations to reduce the manual data entry to the point that we were able to repurpose 2 full-time employees.
The industry standard for Databases
What do you like best about the product?
Simple reading and manipulating of information. We are effectively just manipulating strings to generate documentation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lacks some advanced logic that is present in other premium offerings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data relationships, process tracking, repetitive task automation.
Stable Database System
What do you like best about the product?
MySQL is stable and well burned in. It is reliable and has flexibility to be distributed across systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Windows version of MySQL is a little quirky at times and the GUI is rather terrible but if you're comfortable with command line, go that route.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storing customer data in a backend database for orders. The ability to scale is a nice option.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for a free database system that has the ability to scale, this is the way to go. If you're looking for more enterprise solutions, go with Microsoft SQL or Percona.

What do you dislike about the product?
The software meets our needs and its ease of use and low cost is a differential.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Yes, in my opinion is the best relational open source database.
Good solid database -- consider some alternatives
What do you like best about the product?
The MySQL workbench is probably the most useful piece of software. I've done a lot of table and relationship design and generally, it makes such processes much easier than manually creating. Especially in the case where I'm not completely sure that I have all the data set up or organized properly upfront
What do you dislike about the product?
The licensing arrangements and seemingly blase attitude of Oracle. It seems like they might pull the plug on it at any moment. Hard to see the long-term strategy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Relatively light-weight and inexpensive to implement. Big benefit is that it is used by a large number of University programs for teaching so there is a ready pool of entry level employees available.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would look around carefully. Much of my focus is on databases used to store information for a small group of analysts with deployment of results done on other platforms. Given a different use criteria, you might be better off going with a full blown Oracle/Oracle Cloud, AWS or Google BigQuery equivalent which will take care of the entire access issue transparently
very good server software
What do you like best about the product?
open source Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) that uses Structured Query Language (SQL)
What do you dislike about the product?
It’s Got A Few Stability Issues,Functionality Tends To Be Heavily Dependant On Addons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
best tool as it is inexpensive and very convenient.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
recommended. easy to use, readily available support, inexpensive.
Go-To open source database

feature rich, open source, quality support
What do you dislike about the product?
features lag behind mariadb and perconadb
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
high transaction web applications
It's pretty great for something that's free
What do you like best about the product?
Free. Good documentation. Highly supported by vendor libraries.
What do you dislike about the product?
Seems slightly behind on various features compared to competitors. Clustering is super hard to set up yourself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Needed a SQL database. Mysql delivered. It does the trick.
