Good free database platform
What do you like best about the product?
Good, free database platform that has the ability to do a certain amount of high availability.
What do you dislike about the product?
High availability is cumbersome to set up and not as feature-rich as other DB platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Basic relational databases
Usable, functional database for small to medium projects
What do you like best about the product?
I like how quickly I can set up a database and use for PHP projects like WordPress and Drupal. I have found most open source tools that run on Linux support a mysql backend database for supporting metadata and text storage.
What do you dislike about the product?
Clustering and scaling MySQL is the greatest challenge I have faced in supporting instances. I have had to use the assistance of data architects to create solutions that don't cause more problems than they solve. Additionally, I avoid using it for functions that are heavy on blob storage usage as it greatly impacts the performance in a negative way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MySQL allows for quick build out of small projects for Proof of Concept and tight deadlines. It can scale with the right people supporting it. We use it for Drupal, Wordpress, blogs, small sites, and development efforts for hosted SaaS solutions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's still the industry standard for starting out projects.
Great for putting things in alphabetical or numerical order.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it is so easy to open scripts and run them in MySQL. it does a great job of putting content in order on websites. one click and you're done!
What do you dislike about the product?
You must have computer programming knowledge to write scripts. This software is only easy to run the scripts if someone else has wrirtten them if you don't have that knowledge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use MySQL when updating my employer's website. He is a nature photographer and MySQL allows you to put photos on a site in alphabetical or numerical order with minimal effort running scripts. It has made updating a website very fast and simple when I used to spend many hours.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend learning scripts and computer programming if you want to use this program entirely by yourself to make websites. You will need to hire a computer programmer for your needs if you do not know this stuff. Otherwise it is fairly simple and shows errors that happen so you can fix them.

What do you like best about the product?
The power and simplicity it gives you to perform a wide range of database operations.
What do you dislike about the product?
It crash a few times on Mac systems when you try to close tabs which are simultaneously open.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
automating tasks by creating stored procedures and indexes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Personally feel this is the best interface built for performing complex operations as well as performing backup and storage for mysql database.

Quick and easy to set up. Gives me a simple database and management toolkit for next to zero cost.

Sometimes it's not very intuitive and the support is mainly from peers.

MySQL is most powerful tool for reporting as well as in-depth analysis
What do you like best about the product?
In my opinion, of all the SQL languages, MySQL and its database is the easiest, most well-documented, and efficient. Besides the lack of window functions, MySQL's data structure is incredibly fast. Its range of power is great for both basic reporting all the way up to in-depth analysis on large data sets.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like MySQL's lack of window functions. Window functions are critical for large dataset analysis, and when I need them, I do move to my Redshift database instead.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our BI tool connects to our MySQL database, and from that, we are able to constantly make business decisions and visualize data on a daily basis for our KPIs as well as configuration analysis.

pretty much simple and easy to use and must use it if you love to develop databases for your company
Powerful, Fast, Efficient
What do you like best about the product?
Excellent open source database. Easy to build and very fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing. It serves the purpose I need it to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've implemented systems that used it in the past, but more recently needed it to provide more efficient queries than I could execute from an Oracle system I use by building it locally.
Good to have this one in your machine

Its a open source tool and it will support cross platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Triggers are limited to one per action.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When you are using your MySQL in Cloud as a service you need not even install and maintain.

The ease of use was great,, no learning curve.

There was not a lot of functionality that could be found in other products, but it was free and works well on a small scale.
