MySQL is an open source database software that our firm has used for years. It can be used on most platforms available from Windows and Mac to RedHat, etc.
Features like high availability give you security if the stability of the database.

What do you like best about the product?
rock solid reliability about mysql is the best thing i like about it.
What do you dislike about the product?
MySQL servers often run into replication conflicts during a manual failover when multi-master setups are involved.

What do you like best about the product?
It is simple , fast freely available database for application developers.Managing of large data is pretty easy. Installation and handling are also simple and easy to maintain. In case of any issue support from the database team is also available easily.It’s compatible with virtually every operating system, and is more or less an industry standard.
What do you dislike about the product?
The product have some stability issue. The performance is not good when it need to deal with too many operations at a given time. .Although MySQL is relatively easy to set up, it tends to have less out-of-the-box functionality than many other database systems on the market. Certain features – such as text search and ACID compliance – are dependent not on the core engine but on applications and add-ons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently we are handling and managing all the client data in MySQL. We regularly update and insert new records in the database from our integration tool.

Its a open source tool, so anybody can download and use it for free. Best way to learn Database.

Some times the SQL commands are specific to MySQL and not portable to other SQL platforms.

All basic servers has mysql as SGBDD . SO you don't need to pay extra to get oracle or mongo DB.
It's very simple to do CRUD (create, read, update, delete). It supports for all most, all programming language.

It' less better with huge data bases (tera bites) . Search is less effective than mongo. The response time is not good enuff.

ALL my 11 websites runs with MySql Database. I use it to store information about guests , transaction , bots , crawler .. allmost every thing .
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The best for small websites .But if you need more efficient there is Mongo DB

I like how easy it is to use, and the amount of support there is for it. It is really user friendly and intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dont think there is anything I dislike but I think having automatic typing would be a better suggestion or a built in help wizard.
