MySQL is a very reliable, nimble database system

The MySQL database manager is simple and convenient.

Connecting a website's displayed pages to data on the webserver is a necessity for most businesses. MySQL, along with PHP, makes this connection work well.

I like how powerful the tool is. With just a few keywords at your disposal, you can query almost any dataset required.

Nothing specific, just any of the drawbacks of a relational database system.

What do you like best about the product?
MySQL is one of the simplest DB to learn and set up. It is completely free to use. In the latest versions, they have included support for natural language searches and support for JSON data type, which is really cool! A relational database with such capabilities is a tough competition to NoSQL DBs, which is considered an alternative to relational DBs. It is also a highly scalable database. It can be monitored and regulated well for best performance. Security is also top-class, and it seamlessly works with multiple frameworks.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation is a little hard to follow for beginners. Also the UI of the workbench application is not so great. It a bit difficult to get a hang of it
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I run most of my freelance web applications using MySQL as the backend database management system.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
MySQL is one of the best RDBMS out there, and it is free to use. If you are a startup and are looking for a DBMS that can be easily set up and is highly scalable, then I will recommend MySQL for you.

I would like to say that MySql is one of the best database service providers which is open-source.
I have integrated MySql with PHP, C#, VB, and java as well.
Its operational ability of indexing and retrieving data is as good as MS SQL.

I prefer to use MySql with a small size application because as it can be difficult to handle a structured database with a big enterprise application.

As per my perspective the UI of MySQL is not that good/user-friendly or not improved as per technology improved this days.

Pretty Good System - Not Great but Gets the Job Done
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and understand. Provides all the basics for SQL programming system
What do you dislike about the product?
Frequent technical glitches. Sometimes the server is down and cant be accessed. Initial learning curve took awhile
