Mysql-An Excellent open source database
What do you like best about the product?
Mysql is great open source platform with high performance, and it works fast with commands, easy setup with any front end apps, it works great in integration with frond end php apps with framework like codeignitor, mysql is best database for medium as well as large web apps
What do you dislike about the product?
Mysql lacks in looks and not a great user friendly platform, the performance is quite slow with very huge database, the rendering time is more, the memory consumption on local system is too much
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Used it for applications with medium size database, not much investment to start with mysql as it comes as freeware and it has really easy setup process

MySQL - One way stop for relational database
What do you like best about the product?
I like best about MySQL is how efficiently we can handle relational data and also customer support provided by oracle is very good, so that whenever we face any issue we can contact them and get our issue resolved
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I dislike about MySQL is we can not handle NoSQL data or multimedia data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My major problems of storing historical data is solved by MySQL. Also one benefit I feel about MySQL is we can efficiently query

This tool is very fast, has an operational capacity of excellence, is easy to access and manipulate so with necessary knowledge you can make secure and reliable web applications thanks to the way your system offers protection against access encryption of stored passwords.

it requires some prior knowledge to get the most out of its functions as this is not very intuitive for novice users.

Its powerful platform often helps us so that any application or website can add, modify or delete entries in relation to database which gives us a good approach and initial design of it solving many of the problems of performance that a web project might experience while using it.

The best thing about the RDBS we can design lot of amazing things , it support large data set.
It gives the freedom to make sure design database as per requirement without mining the rules to do it.
We can built a very fast and sweet application around the MySQL. and the good thing about this its free to use.
We don't have to buy the licence to use it for development or either for production version.

What do you dislike about the product?
The thing which I may be dislike about the MySQL is that it may takes more time as compare to other database, and we can't process the large amount of database.
Fetching large data-set and performing in MySQL takes too longer as compare to others.
Because its structure database design support that why we can't store unstructured data there.

With MySQL we can get rid of lot of problems , it supports the relational database so that we can manage the tables very easily and mange complex structure as well.
It is good for small application where data is less as compare to some ERP's.
It also give feasibility to do lot of things under one roof , so that we not need to worry about using it for also large scale application by using simultaneously with other available options.

As it's Open Source, it's easily available, scalable and easy enough to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing at all to dislike really. The initial setup takes a bit of technical knowledge, but apart from that - certainly as is the case with WordPress, you don't generally need to touch the database at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Have developed in the past some beautiful and functional websites based on WordPress. WordPress utilises mySQL.

Good User interface, documentations are straight forward. Works well with both Mac and Windows. I particularly like the forward engineering option.

Password in Vault crashed on me multiple times.

Combining master tables by joining them, finding commonalities. This is particularly good for ad-hoc analyses.

i'm using MySQL for a long time and is very stable and easy to operate, you can access and administer them from the CLI with or GUI.

I feel that the development of MySQL is not progressing rapidly

DoS attacks and spamming can wreck havoc on your database server. You can easily prevent performance issues and increase uptime with a robust load balancing software that ensures automatic failover and security updates.
