What do you like best about the product?
MySQL is a simple but powerful database that can be used for both Power Applications and websites.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface can use some improvements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have not encountered any issues with MySQL. We have greatly benefited from the use the DB engine on most of our internal applications.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Even though MySQL is an easy to use DB engine, the user interface can use some improvements. Make it somewhat easy to use for non-technical users.

Dynamic database with basic latest tech feature, Efficient Analysis for limited data.good for automation.

Difficult to learn, very less friendly for new drag and drop No-SQL type users.

What I like most about Mysql is that as a programmer there is a language like PHP and its frameworks, which includes in its connection and insertion, modification and elimination of registration commands specially integrated with Mysql, which facilitates the code by developing a routine in against the database. Other things that I like can be installed on personal computers, laptops with hardware resources for personal activities and in any operating system. In other words, Mysql is a portable database administrator. Since you can install it and take it to your home, office. That would be difficult for oarcle, Microsoft Sql Server. With regard to installation, it is fast and simple, even Linux is installed in a simple way, although Linux is famous for the dependency problem that always arises when installing an application.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although it is a software of free License, which can be used by the number of person that is, in the institute without any cost. Mysql was recently acquired by ORACLE, a proprietary software company, which creates uncertainty since in the future it could be proprietary software. Other things that I dislike, is that as the volume of data in your tables grows, your processing speed begins to decrease in response when a service is requested. Another aspect that does not like anything is that its interface is through the operating system console and is quite uncomfortable to work with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previously, when a system development analyst needed to perform a database task in Microsoft Sql Server which was installed in the company's servers, the programmer had to go to the work site on those days. With Mysql you can install the software can be installed on a personal computer or laptop, with all the elements and service of the database, and now that programmer can work from the comfort of your home. Another aspect was that Microsoft Sql Server was very expensive to acquire, and the licenses were tied to a user amount. Mysql is free of charge and all workers can use it without generating any expense to the organization.

I would recommend mysql for those small companies whose information systems development is not on a large scale. Another consideration for its recommendation is for those companies where they have a technological deficiency associated with the hardware, because it is also recommended from the financial point of view, since having a license without cost, substantially reduces development costs and can be installed as much in Linux as in Windows. I consume resources from the computers of this database administrator.

MySQL is free, and open source. This is selling point number 1. Aside from that SQL is used everywhere, but MySQL is extremely reliable. Uptime for all of our databases is great, even for extremely large amounts of customer data that we have stored. Queries are built on SQL and are great, and the level of customization that MySQL provides overall with our data is top notch.

We have to develop our applications for MySQL in house based on our own efforts. Especially with our Sales and operations employees that rely on our databases, we had to develop applications for their needs in house. Oracle should take the lead here, and develop a suite that helps build applications using MySQL.

MySQL manages all of our databases on the back end, and we use it to manage not only customer data but we keep a record of power use, energy data from substations, etc. Data that we need to keep record of and look up on, is all stored in MySQL.

If you are looking for any type of relational database MySQL is one of the most well known names, for a good reason. If you need a database management system that can handle anything you throw at it, MySQL is the one to go with.

For installing the database there are some Windows packages that are needed to be installed otherwise the server will not be installed for this you need o install the needed packages manually from the internet in order not to have a problem with the installation.

For developing web and mobile applications I am using MySQL for testing. It is installed on my computer and copy of the production version of the database is existed on my machine and I can do needed queries on my machine. It is so helpful and I am executing any tasks without changing main database for the company. Moreover, it is very easy to install and it dos not take much time to configure it.

While installation be sure that you have checked the MySQL serve otherwise the server itself will not be installed and you will not be able to use it.

What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy and intuitive to understand. All the operations have a specific syntax which is available in the documentation and provides a great platform for beginners to set foot into databases and SQL language.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that when a query syntax is wrong, the software does provide a error message but more often than not the error code is very difficult to decipher. The message just says that a character does not belong there and since it usually happens in complex queries, the error message is not helping much at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use MySQL for database for most of my web applications. They store the data, usually the information and profiles of the registered users in the app and essentially provides a backbone to my web application.

Easy to use.reliable light weight backend database. Mysql database is available for both LINUX AND WINDOWS operating systems.

MySQL being no-RDBMS, there can be certain standard RDBMS Features will be missing because it doesn't follow many EF. Codd's rules. The security aspect can be a concern on a large dataset. Integrity constraints not defined well. Stored procedures came in only in recent versions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being an Opensource Database for the LAMP platform. MySQL gels well with PHP LAMP platform. We can even write stored procedures in PHP. There are provisions to secure the data by means of MD5 Encryption. The performance of mysql is good with large databases. Not only LAMP, But also it can connect with several other frontends like HTML5CANAS, JS Frameworks, and many other open-source ecommerce platforms.

MYSQL has been around my organization for years, and has stood the test of times as one of the best open sourced Structured Query Languages around.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lately there have been a few issues with the database software and haven't received very timely response. Integration into some of the web applications have been a bit buggy with referencing Foreign Keys.
