What do you like best about the product?
First of all its Free, Also it open source and is a cross platform application. It allows us to do quick setup and is very easy to get it up and running even in a production environment. It has Relational Schema also it supports all major programming languages. It is High performing software which is easy to learn and has the ability to work professionally.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has some Scalability issues since the performance become worse when the data is larger. Although it supports PL/SQL but to use/create PL/SQL procedures in MySQL isn't as mature in terms as programming structures as Oracle PL/SQL. It should support Auto partitioning as well as Unified storage. Optimizing queries can be challenging. Having a tool to trace some queries could be useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was using MySQL across the whole organization. MySQL stores all company data from every data source. We built a robust content management system with mysql with a web front end, a MAMP stack.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I prefer to use MySQL in smaller well controlled data sets both insert/update and selecting data for my reports. If you need to provide a working prototype quickly, MySQL is the first database I grab. If you need to build a small and efficient web application, MySQL is the first choice.
MySQL is essential for any IT professional.
What do you like best about the product?
Compatibility and portability with MySQL are incomparable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sort of an outdated language, some documentation is poorly written.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating small websites for personal vacation times and other sign in requirements.

This may be on its way out, so maybe focus on a newer format like mongoDB.

What do you like best about the product?
One of the many things that I liked most about knowing this technology was the fact that it is open source and, even more, knowing that it is developed by Oracle, which makes it more attractive. I use MySQL very often to integrate it with my web applications and there are many interfaces that allow its integration. Another of its features is that it can be used on both Windows and Linux platforms making it much more versatile compared to Microsoft SqlServer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, mysql is more oriented for simple web applications. Its processing capacity is not designed for mass concurrences which makes it disposable for systems of large companies and its documentation is somewhat limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With the implementation of mysql to the web systems of the company, human resources problems have been solved, such as the payment of payroll, generation of reports, interoperability among other companies, to name a few.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I strongly recommend mysql for the development of web applications. It is easy to use and many interfaces allow its integration.

What do you like best about the product?
MySQL workbench is relatively intuitive and the ease of finding online documentation and answers to questions is good.
What do you dislike about the product?
Certain advanced tasks may require a few terminal commands and things are much less intuitive when you start going there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing a database for business process management app and a custom app developed with a Rapid Application Development software.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I feel like MySQL is perhaps a bit easier to learn that Microsoft SQL, but that could be subjective. Most of the time the application you are using only gives you once choice though.
Easy and robust
What do you like best about the product?
You can do everything you want. It's the mother of the database! Maybe the grandmother! In php is very easy to access and you can find every solution on the internet.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes you need to implement everything by hand and you are limited to not use trees.

Depending on you database size, if it is small or medium, it's really a good ideia.. if it's big, but simple, also a great idea.

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using MySQL from past 4 years and have used for to handle data sets for my projects. I like the MySQL as it is user friendly and has great performance. It is also widely adopted by various companies to manage the data. Also, support is readily available for MySQL.
What do you dislike about the product?
MySQL can handle virtually limitless amount of information but if it is forced to deal with too many operations at one time then the performance degrades or MySQL becomes unstable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been using MySQL for my projects such as E commerce website and have been storing information in the database using MySQL. I realized that the syntax of using MySQL is pretty much easier as compared to programming languages such as Java.

I highly recommend to use MySQL for managing the database for your projects.

Even though there is not much negative aspect of MySql but I would say the installation might be more practical.

I managed large amount of records for querying relatively complex structures.

MySql provides ease of use, scalability, and robustness. We have used MySql in different Web Applications with mobile apps connected to it through API. We have found it very reliable and robust to use.

MySql lacks speed when it comes to executing multi-level nested queries.

It is an open-source product. Therefore, it significantly helps to reduce the cost of the product. In turn, it assists medium and small businesses in affording software solutions developed with MySQL.
