Robust and High-Performance ERP Platform

  • February 01, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that InterSystems IRIS is particularly well-suited for ERP applications requiring reliability, performance, and data consistency. The platform's flexibility facilitates integrations, especially with nginx as a web server and HAProxy as a reverse proxy. Additionally, the initial setup is easy, and the product's security hardening is facilitated by the online documentation.
What do you dislike about the product?
The areas for improvement mainly involve integrations with other platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use InterSystems IRIS to manage complex transactional data, develop robust business logic, and expose high-performance APIs, while being well-suited for ERP applications requiring reliability, performance, and data consistency.

Essential Platform with Stellar Support, Steep Learning Curve

  • January 29, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate the Worldwide Response Center (WRC) provided by InterSystems IRIS. Their support team is incredibly responsive and knowledgeable, answering every question with great expertise. It feels like having an extension of our own team. The WRC is a game changer, especially in sectors like finance and automotive where downtime isn't an option. I value that we can set the priority of the ticket and, in crisis situations, they provide immediate access to engineers who truly solve the problem.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve can be steep, especially for newer features or complex cloud configurations. While the documentation is extensive, it can sometimes be difficult to find specific examples for advanced scenarios.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
InterSystems IRIS provides high performance and stability, ensuring data consistency and speed for real-time transaction processing. It eliminates downtime, making our ERP robust and responsive.

IRIS: An Outstanding All-in-One Toolbox

  • January 15, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
InterSystems products, in general, are outstanding, but IRIS has something extra. What I like most is that IRIS feels like a toolbox that brings together the main InterSystems products, such as Caché and Ensemble, all in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, the system is great. The only downside I’ve noticed, as a software developer, is the lack of online tutorials and discussions that cover the development process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a developer, I mostly implement solutions in the healthcare area. This field involves all kinds of information, such as patient records, payments, and health tests. The volume of data is huge, and IRIS can handle all of it smoothly.

Easy AI integration into IRIS and constant updates that evolve the platform

  • January 14, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The easy integration of AI into IRIS greatly facilitates daily work. Another important point is the recurring updates released on the platform, which help keep everything constantly evolving.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning process is a bit time-consuming and it may take some time until I feel completely comfortable with the use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I face various problems related to AI, and due to the ease of using it within the code, it assists me in my day-to-day work. Additionally, the extremely high-performing database also helps me meet my clients' needs.

Unified Programming and Complete Documentation Facilitate Use

  • January 08, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I find it very useful because of the way it is programmed and the way SQL connections are made, as everything is integrated. The global variables part is also very good, and the documentation is quite complete, making it easy to find what I need.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not a big fan of the screen creation part, as I find the ZEN framework a bit complicated to use. Additionally, I miss native resources aimed at Brazil. Another point is that the community is mostly American or European, which makes it even more difficult for those seeking support or specific content for our country.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The quick creation of tables makes everything much easier, and the ability to create components is also a great differentiator.

InterSystems IRIS: Integration and Performance in One Place

  • December 23, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What impresses me most about InterSystems IRIS is the way it solves the problem of technological fragmentation. In many projects, you need a relational database, a cache for performance, a search engine, and an integration tool (ESB) all separately. IRIS puts all of this into a single high-performance "box."
What do you dislike about the product?
The steep learning curve of the proprietary ObjectScript language and the smaller community compared to open source technologies are the main technical friction points I observe.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Companies, especially in the healthcare and finance sectors, often deal with dozens of isolated systems that do not communicate with each other. InterSystems IRIS resolves this fragmentation through a robust integration mechanism, with an embedded Enterprise Service Bus, that translates and connects these environments; in healthcare, for example, it natively interprets complex protocols like HL7 and FHIR, allowing laboratories and electronic health records to exchange data in real time. In addition to unifying communication, the platform eliminates delays caused by the common need to separate transactional databases from analytical ones. By acting as a Translytical solution, IRIS can process heavy analytics via SQL or Analytics simultaneously with the ingestion of thousands of transactions per second in the same database, ensuring high performance without bottlenecks.

Powerful Out-of-the-Box Components and Effortless Customization

  • December 18, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It works! There are loads of pre-built components that you can use straight out of the box, the data transformations GUI is very simple to use, and if you need to create custom business components, this can be easily done using code. So you can essentially solve all interoperability problems with IRIS.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the documentation for methods can be non-existent. The documentation may just say the method name, with no explanation on what it does. This means that you may have to look at the underlying code to determine what a particular method does. Which can obviously be time consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enabling different healthcare systems to communicate with one another can make a significant difference. If this connectivity helps reduce the time clinicians spend accessing specific sections of your health record, it means they can devote more attention to you, rather than spending valuable time figuring out how to retrieve your data.

Easy Setup, But High License Costs

  • December 15, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like InterSystems IRIS because it's speedy and easy to program. The freedom with M, a scripting language, lets you do everything with this database. I also think it's the leading IT platform for health. The initial setup was easy as 1 2 3.
What do you dislike about the product?
License costs are very high. If you want to use it on a website because you love the database - but have to pay for it - while other databases are free.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use InterSystems IRIS as a quick database because of its speed and ease of programming.

High Performance and Effortless Scalability with IRIS

  • December 11, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like about IRIS is its high performance and ease of infrastructure scalability.
What do you dislike about the product?
Low popularity and implementation/licensing costs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IRIS performs very well with high data loads, whether for persistence or data integration. This helps me in processes with high data flow, such as data lakes and integrators.

Fast Database Integration for Massive Data Warehouses

  • December 04, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The database performs exceptionally well when it comes to recording processes. We integrate it with other companies to supply data warehouses, and the speed remains impressive, even when handling millions of records.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface for building BPL is rather lacking, and adding specific tools could significantly enhance productivity when developing solutions with BPL.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working with large volumes of data in a data warehouse is extremely fast, and creating views by combining several tables offers a lot of flexibility.
