Value-add on top of standard ELK stack, great support, agile company.

What do you like best about the product?
Beyond the technical value-adds on top of a standard ELK stack, the Logz.io team really partners with you to provide support at all levels, including getting feedback to shape future product directions and possibilities and help through on-boarding and adoption issues within your company.
What do you dislike about the product?
There has really only been one item that we've desired that Logz.io didn't fully achieve, that was compatibility with log4j 1.2. However, to be fair, this version has been end-of-life since 2015, we needed a small push to upgrade anyway.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Different resources at all levels have increased visibility and transparency to all components across our application stacks. Ability to track and identify transactions and issues across disparate systems allows us to pro-actively and quickly identify & resolve incidents.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Logz.io provides many value-add services on top of a standard ELK stack and is a great company to partner with. If you want to have more time to focus on business critical tasks, they provide a great service at a reasonable cost.

Great hosted ELK service!

What do you like best about the product?
I don't have to run infrastructure! We've been pushing logs over to logz.io from Kubernetes for a while now and everything just works, I almost never need to think about logging which is ideal.
What do you dislike about the product?
Kibana constantly confuses our developers for some reason.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Primarily compliance requirements as well as digging into problems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Developer training will be required to use Kibana properly, other than that no real advice. Use subaccounts to separate out your prod vs non-prod if you can.

What do you like best about the product?
Many providers of ELK expect you to host your own Logstash, which dramatically complicates usage.

What do you dislike about the product?
There is some minor clunkiness around limits management. API support is only enabled at Enterprise level, instead of platform-wide. High-touch support means they get a bit antsy for response.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The aim for our project was to provide a lower-cost endpoint for our company-wide log aggregation service. We are still in the early phases of adoption, but initial results are promising enough that my manager has already started the process of downsizing our contract with our current vendor.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Talk to their support team: they do an excellent job.

What do you like best about the product?
The staff. We used Elastic/Kibana before, so we know what to expect. Whta I did not expect is the amount of engagement and professionalism Logz.io staff provided to answer all the minute questions we had before we came on board.
What do you dislike about the product?
Spacing between priced plans seems to large to me. I would love a 2G plan...

Removes the complexity of installing and maintaining ELK from our hands

What do you like best about the product?
The support is great - very professional, knowledgeable and willing to help.
Parsing and pivoting the data is easy with the support team as they do all the heavy lifting for us.
Account team is friendly, professional and will do anything to make you happy.
The SOC2 compliance is important and made us trust Logz.IO instead of the competition.
Cognitive Insights is useful for error messages and points to Stack Overflow.
Live-Tail is a new feature, very nice. Allows you to see the data stream before it's parsed.
Pre-maid dashboards are awesome.
Integration screen makes it simple to integrate with other OS's, devices and technologies.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not able to see the parsing currently configured on the account.
Not having Private insights which I hope is in the road-map.
Alerting could be more sophisticated, for example - anomaly detection, resource starvation algorithms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Log Management.
Business insights.
Performance monitoring.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
They can do virtually anything needed.
The support staff are awesome so just engage with them and they would be happy to assist.

What do you dislike about the product?
Once in a while, the UI freezes for a minute... not sure if it stuck on heavy query which I didn't intend to execute or any other reason...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main purpose is to alert my team of weird stuff in production. Secondary goal is to analysis the volume of certain behavior across customer. Facets option (slicing results by attribute) is extremely useful.

Great Product, Stellar Support

What do you like best about the product?
ELK is a very powerful log collection and analysis tool, but it's not always easy to configure all the bells and whistles. Logz.io takes care of all of the ELK implementation, leaving you with a simple to use powerful tool. Their support is amazing - very quick and always ready to help.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setting up certain filters and the addition of new log types needs to be done by support. But their support is amazing and they have a very fast turnaround.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are now able to do log correlation and find and resolve issues that took many hours of scraping through text logs quickly and effectively.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for a service like this, I think Logz.io is definitely worth your time and consideration. I really cannot say anything bad about them. The support is stellar and chat engine is built right into their webpage, making it very easy to chat with support when you're having an issue or need a question answered.

Easy to use - Ready to go, when you are

What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to get started, just sign up for an account and connect your first shipper. The support is very helpful and customer friendly. Guides are provided on how to, in case of problems support is happy to help you get started.
What do you dislike about the product?
Custom logstash filters must be applied by Logz.io staff. We build a test environment on site with custom grok filters, for some reason they were not compatible with Logz.io and took a week or two to get converted/rewritten.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are generating ~0,7GB of logs per day, even if that's not very much. It's simply too much to check in real-time. We use Logz.io to visualize the different type of logs and to trace messages to versions of our software (or specific customer systems).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
After the first meeting with Logz.io, send some log examples and describe what type of data you want to visualize, this ay they will be able to help you very easy and get started with visualizations in Kibana.

It's not so much dislike, as this comes with the territory, but the shortcomings and missing features of standard ELK are also part of this offering
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Maintaining an ELK stack of our own required putting in too much time.
