What do you like best about the product?
I like meta data information stored on SYSIBM tables..which tells us INDEX or KEY fields for a table
What do you dislike about the product?
IBM DB2 Could be more user friendly. Please look into that aspect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working on and Maintaining Benefits Administration data. It is stable and provides good consistency for Data as RDBMS Platform.

It's one of the most stable and powerful dB in the market. I keep using as a main source of most of my studies

It's still very dependent on the mf availability

All the relational data from the productive environment comes from db2

I had to see the data and check with clients to provide further info. It's easy to access particular record makes it good
It's very secure and easy to run many formatter , functiona over the date time.

Security, Searching, INdexing, it's very easy use as ORM hibernate mapping .

Not easy to write SQL compare MySQL , Sometime hang out hopefully that's becuase of disk issue

The main advantages of DB2 over other databases is the direct access to the data via the dBm interface. It runs on all available operating systems and provides flexibility
What do you dislike about the product?
Once the transaction log is cometely utilised, the database goes into rollback mode and the system is inaccessible until rollback is completed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problems we have solved using db2 is the ease with which we can set up the high availability and disaster recovery set up for SAP systems. Major benefits have been downtime reduction of love production environments.

Availability, Since it run on a mainframe the data is available all the time with very less maintenance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is very important to look into the budget prospect of the project. Applications with lower loads could go for open source like MS SQL but someone who is dealing with heavy transactions and movement of data should definitely consider DB2 as primary database
