Simple GRC with easy implementation
What do you like best about the product?
Apptega is very easy to use and not over encumbered with features you won't use. Apptega is a very strong tool for managing your GRC program.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the areas are lacking depth, such as the vendor categorization area in vendor management.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem area I had was performing gap assessment for different frameworks. Apptega makes this simple with the use of their questionnaires.

Very Organized and keep all documents together and gives great visuals at the same time

Nothing at all, they have vidoes explaining everything for you.

Runs a little slow sometimes but for all it does, that is to be expected

Giving us a complete overview without the risk of missing anything. Also, the scoring system/reports are very helpful in us directing which way future meetings should go and what still needs to be addressed.

What do you like best about the product?
Top notch compliance system that is been managed by a team of true professionals. The platform ease of implementation and support for multiple technology solution integration with frequent touch point by the customer support team have enable us to efficiently onboard the Apptega product into our compliance practice.
What do you dislike about the product?
Platform is currently cloud based but integrate with on premise data database systems for organizations with data residency requirements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Apptega helps organization to access and improve on their security postures and security program management
Extreme time saver and organizer
What do you like best about the product?
The multiple different frameworks helps so much with compliance. Having the definitions of each control makes it very easy to know what is needed from me. Assigning tasks to individuals is also very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to say here. The customer service aspect of Apptega has been excellent. Very responsive account manager and definitely feel like our complaints/suggestions are heard. Our account manager putting in feature requests on our behalf is very rare to see.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CMMC and NIST are massive undertakings. Would not be able to do any of it without Apptega guiding me.
Excellent Governance & Program assessment tool for those organizations with minimal GRC staffing
What do you like best about the product?
Simplifies many GRC tasks that other products over complicate, allowing a foundational assessment to be completed quickly then expanded upon. It integrates seamlessly with SAML for authentication and the support team is excellent.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a package that supports numerous governance frameworks, it uses common control criteria to assist in overall assessment. Even so, these behaviors can sometimes impact scoring in unexpected and confusing ways.

Cybersecurity Program Assessment and continuous improvement.
Easy to Use Platform
What do you like best about the product?
It's very simple to use. The reports are also great for executive meetings.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like to see a little better explanations surrounding HIPPA questions
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Much better than the old excel spreadsheet method of tracking compliance. Apptega provides a single place for tracking and the reports are outstanding.
Great application for auditors
What do you like best about the product?
It saves us a lot of time. Each client is distinct and evidence is well organized for us. We also use the reports heavily, and the scoring gas guages are really good. We do a lot of maturity work, updating client audits over a period of time. There are good reports to show client progress and easily find gaps
What do you dislike about the product?
None really. We haven't used all the modules yet. TPRM/Vendor Management didn't really meet our needs. They're improving the platform all the time, so it might someday.

Saving time on reporting. Apptega does a great job on reporting
Excellent platform for juggling multiple compliances with minimal effort
What do you like best about the product?
The harmonizing of frameworks means answering one thing can check the box in multiple compliances. The shared evidence store saves hundreds of hours and allows updating of evidence one time - so all the places that use it.

What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn't read evidence/policies to produce AI-suggested recommendations. The recommendations are based upon training from public analysis of that item in a particular framework. i.e., the recommendation is good but not tuned to your particular organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Any single compliance framework is a lot of work to get ready for the audit. When you have multiple compliance requirements or frameworks the management, gathering of evidence, synchronizing changes becomes exponentially more difficult. This keeps everything in sync, and under control saving many hours of work and worry.
Control numbers in the categories and a floating Save button
What do you like best about the product?
The tool is easy to use and all controls have an explanation for our clients to understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that I have to scroll all the way down to click save. I know there is a save button on each control section but that still requires me to scroll to the bottom of the control to go save it. Sometimes I present a risk assessment live and go through it with a client and all the scrolling up and down is just a slitgh inconvenience. I also would love to be able to see the control number nect to each section. For example in the CMMC assessment, you have to expand the entire category to see the control number. It would be really helpful just to see the control number right next to the each section so that you don't have to click each drop down.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Apptega is a huge help for Ascend in that we do not have to go dig for the most updated version of a risk assessment and we don't have to manually create a powerpoint to present our findings- we can automatically export it. It also works as a repository of all things security for some of our clients when we enable the Require evidence option.
