Best thing about Devie42 is very easy to understand , implement , discover all kind of devices in your infrastructure . Device42 has it all what is needed to anaylse your datacenter infra , not only physical compute , network devices but also you can analyse power usage .
10/10 to Device42 team and customer service support team . Customer service support is always prompt in helping and they are simply genious who can turn around thigs very quickly .

What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing to dislike Device42 but yeah as tool is very cool to use , implement , we like customers , our expections keep growing , we hope device42 will keep growing and keep adding new features to their product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There are so many problems which we have managed to analyse using device42 portal . Definately its benefiting us and if you are looking for device42 , i would recommend you go for it as you will understand benefits once you start using it.

One of the most valuable features, in my experience, is the precise tracking of hardware devices and their locations registered in the solution.
Device42 allows us to determine the exact placement of assets based on the building maps and the room details. This feature has allowed us to gain the upper hand on the customers and provide them with satisfaction because they can visually see the arrangement of their assets within the organization.
What needs improvement?
In my experience, I believe that the key concern is the pricing strategy of the solution. Instead, other solutions are much more cost-effective.
Previously, Device42 has altered the pricing model to include a subscription fee which I see as very costly. They should change their pricing strategy and license scheme, conduct market research and ensure that they provide the right product in the market at the right price.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Device42 since 2017.
How are customer service and support?
The support team is not really a concern for us since our teams in France and Romania are very skilled in handling our issues regarding integration configuration and other processes. We do not seek external support and since Device42 is a new software, particularly in the Middle East, we have not seen any issues.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
In technical aspects, Device42 stands out as the strongest, especially considering its robust capabilities on a VM and the option to be built as a standalone device.
How was the initial setup?
The solution is usually installed using a pre configured VMware image supplied by Device42 itself.
What was our ROI?
Regarding the ROI, I haven't seen any loss or misuse of the money we have invested. The solution generates reports which serve as an important tool for management and insurance processes. Based on this report, many customers with control centers secure insurance coverage for the organization, and this report also helps us to calculate the value of our assets within the organization. The valuable insights provided by Device42 have helped us to accurately predict the pricing and emphasize higher quality and value proposition.
What other advice do I have?
My advice would be to determine the number of assets you own since this count helps to accurately determine the required license and the cost that you will incur while purchasing the solution. After aquiring an appropriate number of licenses, the key is to implement it. I would rate this solution 8 out of 10.

Finding expiring certificates, zombie servers, right sizing servers when migrating to the cloud, new devices customers didnt know they have.
DEVICE42 is one of the best IP managers on the market
What do you like best about the product?
DEVICE42 is a very advanced IP manager. The auto-discovery feature makes it very easy to map out already existing infrastructure. It is able to produce powerful and detailed reports on the network.
What do you dislike about the product?
DEVICE42 is quite advanced and using it without prior experience or training might seem a little intimidating. It takes some time to get used to the interface and navigation in general.

We use DEVICE42 mainly for IP management and to make sure there are no overlapping subnets in the large network. We are also using the 'Secrets' feature to store sensitive information.

Current topics in online documentation are in function sequence or classified by function, would prefer to see it in the deployment sequence, for example Overview, Deploy, Manage, Reports. Current documentation table of content: Accounting, API Overview, Appliance Manager, Administration, Applications, Auto Discovery.

With this system you can get any information about the location of the device, connected cables, additional information and statuses. Engineers no longer need to do visual audits but simply find equipment in Device42 to get complete info. And with properly configured autodiscovery, we get rid of manual accounting of equipment.
If you don't have enough some features in the UI itself then you can implement small http application yourself and configure receiving data from Device42 via API or DOQL (Device42 query object language) and visulize it in your applications. So we deployed our server room schemes with the necessary set of information
