Am impressive product that gives the ability to monitor, analyze, and understand your IT operations
What do you like best about the product?
-The responsiveness of the user interface and clean, readily understandable design
-The excellent diagnostics and trouble-shooting utilities
-The ability to see services on the lowest possible level as well as the highest level, interacting with the rest of the estate.
-The light-weight nature of the front-end
-The ease of user administration and controlling access
-The excellent customer support from the vendor
-Very light server load, less than 1% additional CPU load on every monitored host.
What do you dislike about the product?
-Setup can take a very long time and quite some teething problems to overcome
-Ability to add new applications/services to be monitored isn't entirely straightforward in many cases, but that's understandable
-The cost of the product can get to be very significant very soon if you have a large and varied enterprise-level IT estate to cover and a large number of users
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
AppDynamics allow us to monitor the interaction between component services and applications in a solution stack, between discrete solutions interacting via the middleware with each other and MI reporting solutions, and all the external customer interactions hitting gateways and application servers on a unprecedented breadth and depth. The utility is immensely helpful for monitoring performance, finding problem spots, and diagnosing errors and significant performance hits.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider your IT estate carefully and try to limit the potential AppDynamics userbase to those who really need to use it as otherwise costs can swiftly spiral out of control.
Definitely try the trial with them, they are extremely responsive and accommodating with potential customers.
Master of Application Data Analysis
What do you like best about the product?
Best thing about this tool is that u don't need multiple tools for your needs. There are nearly all solutions available under single roof named AppDynamics. Good thing is its online website interface you can see things on the go. Usually you deploy something locally in-house and you going abroad you don't have a clear picture. No such problem exists in it.
What do you dislike about the product?
For me not as such but its UI needs a lot improvements. You will not feel any issue if you got training for your people. But one day when a newbie will learning will be complaining about its Interface flow. I know things will be much better with time. Same improvement is required in Dashboard. Customization if fine. But there is a lot margin of improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring of customer experience for application built by us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It depends on your needs. Please invest some time in research of other tools also. And after that i bet you will not find a single tool capable like AppDynamics.

What do you dislike about the product?
It was meeting our expectations, nothing specific.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our enterprise application consisted of thousands of loosely coupled deployable units. We aimed to enhance predictability and performance to better serve the business. App Dynamics played a crucial role in achieving this goal.

Best analytics platform
What do you like best about the product?
I have used analytics for my app and I found it really useful. But currently with ionic 2 I get it absolutely free, I have to see what more competitive features are provided
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost model is mostly suitable for enterprise and not indie developers. I would like to see if there is any change considering that the most used feature for me is now available for free at ionic itself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm writing an independent app that is yet to see the market. It falls on the line of instagram. Considering that I've used analytics only so far it is hard to say my benefits at this moment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for the enterprise model.
AppDynamics one of the best analytic tools
What do you like best about the product?
The rich features and comprehensive features in the Dashboard attracts users a lot.The analytic options are very clear and brief enough. One package for all Monitoring, troubleshooting and analytics
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish it could support even more languages. And also give more focus on UX so the learning curve is reduced. But still a good choice for nerds
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gives me early insights in the performance and stability of my production Apps. so that build , deploy , learn curve is very spontaneous
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A must try for companies who want to adhere to DevOps
It was perfect and in detail analytics like it...
What do you like best about the product?
it shows detail analytics of application in any environment like android, apple or windows platform also it gives us the exact data on how user used the app where they find the difficulty.
What do you dislike about the product?
we dislike the dashboard which is little hard to understand at the first and then the time it takes to provide dynamics also uptime and downtime takes lot of patience to realise.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we are trying to solve a gap between driver end of application and customer end of application its integration and synchronisation so the status of vehicle can be known to a client at any moment of time during the journey
Recommendations to others considering the product:
well its a good platform to test your application success rate and it is really a great way to start your journey in digital world
We've had experience using Dynatrace, CA & Gomez but AppDynamics excels in terms of implementation, footprint & overhead
What is our primary use case?
Extensive use cases, dozens of primary and secondary use cases ranging from core application monitoring at the global level to micro level performance analysis at the transaction level. AppD provides the ability to also manage total interactions at the web/mobile browser level, the database and core infrastructure including server level and L4 network.
How has it helped my organization?
We are a services organization, so we use AppDynamics with our customers. It has allowed us to expand our footprint in the application management business with virtually all of our major accounts. We were able to expand and go into other applications that we weren't in or offering previously. We have a new value proposition for our customers- enhanced visibility, enhanced stability, and we can reduce our costs to them because our cost structure is reduced by using AppDynamics. We have other examples like this as well where AppDynamics has improved the way we function and operate. As of date of this article, our company has in excess of 30,000 AppDynamics agents deployed globally and we are monitoring billions of annual page views for major customers.
Furthermore, AppDynamics is a key toolset and drives tremendous value and efficiency in our remote performance management center which supports over 10,000 retail locations on behalf of our retail customers.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using this solution for more than five years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
We didn't have any issues with stability. Highly stable with extremely light impact- negligible.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We didn't have any issues with scalability. Unbelievably scalable - we selected this solution for its ability to aggregate thousands and thousand of end point monitoring.
How are customer service and support?
Customer Service:
AppDynamics redefines customer services, especially in post sales support- maybe one of the most responsive service desk teams in the industry.
Technical Support:
They have done a superb job of getting some obscenely bright software people with a passion for customer services and unleashed them in the market. Some of the finest technical support in the industry.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was extremely straightforward- we can have an enterprise deployment with several dozen end points being monitored in less than 3 hours.
What about the implementation team?
Our first few implementations we did ourselves and then for our first major customer implementation we got AppDynamics to assist. We currently support all of our internal and external deployments.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We're regularly looking at various options. Even before we made the decision to standardize on AppDynamics, we already had experience with BMC Appsight. We also had experience using Dynatrace, CA and Gomez at some of our customer's environments. We also heard our customers talking about their experiences with these other products.
What other advice do I have?
You can't over-speak importance of deployment, configuration and infrastructure footprint because what happens is that people get excited when they see the output of various products (such as Dynatrace or CA Wiley). They say, "wow, it's very powerful, we've never had visibility, we're going to implement at all costs." Then they buy the solution and they realize they need 5X the amount of servers, a lot of storage, experts to manage it, etc.
