Cloud Cost transparency at the next level
What do you like best about the product?
Easy interface. Ability to integrate over 50+ telemetries and allocation for our org. Great self-service dashboard capabilities. Unlocking cost transparency at the ressource level makes it accessible from C-Level to engineer and is the key piece to enable FinOps throughout the organization. Great customer support team, post sales and constant product evolution is amazing! Implementation was very easy even given our highly complex telemetries for shared cost.
What do you dislike about the product?
We used to have some latencies in loading dashboards and explorer views, but this has been fixed several months ago.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enabling cloud cost transparency at scale down to the engineer. Business and tech KPI tracking throughout all levels of the org.
CloudZero Hero
What do you like best about the product?
CloudZero has been great since day 1. Y'all nail ease of use, implementation, customer support (pre and post sales), and is a fantastic platform for FinOps. We have over 358 users now too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Insights platform has a lot of work to do be done
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We'll be using CloudZero for a lot more than just Cloud Cost Management -> true business optimization is our goal through a comprehensive single pane of glass.
First Class Customer Service with a Highly Customizable Solution
What do you like best about the product?
CloudZero's real-time interactive usage allows for high adoption across our teams. We are able to quickly identify emerging trends giving our users fast insights with clarity on where to take action. The Dashboarding capabitlites allow for highly customized views so that we can focus directly in on key areas that we want our engienering teams focused on. Lastly, it is important to call out that our onboarding experience was top notch. We have been beyond impressed with the level of customer support we have received, not just in answering our questions but it proactive forethought to consider new ways to deliver value for our company.
What do you dislike about the product?
The highly customized features do require a longer learning curve compared with other cloud tools. However, the payoff is well worth what the visualations are able to produce.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping us identify spend anomolies, budget exposures and targeted ways to address high spend areas with a more optimized approach.
Simple Visibility into Complex Cloud Environments
What do you like best about the product?
CloudZero has an easy to browse interface for visualizing and representing your Cloud Costs to your key stakeholders. On top of it's interface, are the customizations that make it simple to update Dimensions which would otherwise require tagging efforts to be previously performed. The CloudZero FAM, is the unsung hero of CloudZero, bringing so much value to the organization from planning, to building out dashboards, and helping us achieve our business objectives.
What do you dislike about the product?
CloudZero, while having capabilities to encorporate multiple key integrations with Cloud Providers, has enabled us to add more sources of billing data to CloudZero through the AnyCost Billing data ingestion, but it still has some maturing to do, to enable a better user experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CloudZero is our single pane of glass for all of our Cloud costs, and simplifies breaking down even the most complicated cloud cost visibility issues. This has greatly improved my companies capability to save costs, by identifying the key areas of costs that can be reduced. The cost of CloudZero has already been paid down by all of the savings we have been able to achieve, and then some.
Brings intelligence to a maturing area of financial management
What do you like best about the product?
Focus on unit economics and understanding that "every engineering decision is a buying decision". It is not enough at this point to simply understand volume and cost related to your cloud spend. Rather, CloudZero focuses on the unit economics associated to that spend, using your own real-world business data. What is your cost per "widget"? How do you optimize that cost per widget? This is where CloudZero excels beyond the competitors. The product provides you necessary context to make durable and data driven decisions.
What do you dislike about the product?
In our experience there have been no major issues with the product. That does not mean it is not perfect, however, the CloudZero team is top notch when it comes to seeking user feedback and actually doing something with it. Our feedback has resulted in numerous enhancements to meet our (and hopefully other customer) needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CloudZero helps me to understand the cloud financial impact of engineering and user driven decisions.
No brainer spend on finops observability
What do you like best about the product?
Over the last twelve months we’ve made use of CloudZero to make huge savings to our cloud spend, make sustainable, meaningful changes to our engineering-spend culture, and to enhance our SaaS unit economics.
CloudZero is by far the best value software I buy here. Over the course of 12 months it’s almost inevitable that we break even with the savings we make against our subscription costs.
Finally, the team at CloudZero are a huge asset to us, it’s like having another team member keeping tabs on things. I have a fortnightly call with Mark Banz who always finds something I’ve missed, and Matt Manger was instrumental in gearing us up for success.

What do you dislike about the product?
It's a hard one. They replatformed from using quicksight to looker internally which broke a few bookmarks I had. The configuration yaml could be more intuitive but they provide great tooling and usually the AM is doing that anyway
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Quickly identify accidental spend (bugs) and rectify before the damage becomes too big. At Elliptic we process huge (TODO - how much) volumes of data on a daily basis, and our exposure to risk here is large.
- Identify opportunities for cost saving. To take a recent example, our compute spend has gone up, which we expect, but our compute savings plan is now constantly at 100%, which means we’re fully exposed to paying on demand prices for compute. Time to consider bolstering that savings plan.
- Put spend data directly into the hands of the engineers making real decisions on the ground, “shifting left” on cost culture and meaning we have less bugs, and less opportunities for saving, as we are more deliberate about spend up-front

Good finops tools
What do you like best about the product?
CLoudZero is easy to setup, easy to manipulate, and the pricing is not a percentage of your cloud expenses !
What do you dislike about the product?
For the moment the creation of custom report needs Cloudzero help
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Give a large overview of our cloud expenses (GCP and AWS)
Cloudzero for monitoring AWS finances
What do you like best about the product?
easy menus to filter data and get to exactly what you need to see
What do you dislike about the product?
Frequency of data update, need realtime.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
cost savings
Very useful tool for controlling your AWS cost
What do you like best about the product?
They show you all the details of your spending. I especially appreciate their anomaly detection and alerts. That allows reacting quickly when something goes awry .,
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see more flexibility with alert configuring. Allow more than one channel and e-mail, allow configure custom alert criteria.
We are also looking forward to being able to use CZ on the GCP.
We are also looking forward to being able to use CZ on the GCP.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Recently, we were alerted by CZ about a spending anomaly with one of the products we use. It grew slowly, and we did not notice. When CZ warned us, we could drastically reduce spending on this product by optimizing its configuration.
Excellent developer oriented AWS cost management platform
What do you like best about the product?
Provides exposure to cost data very well to engineers with an intuitive interface and anomaly detection via Slack. We were able to quickly identify a number of areas to eliminate waste, and have caught more than a few changes that where simple changes to the application saved us thousands of dollars a month.
Since the application engineering teams have so much control of our cloud infrastructure costs and want to do the right thing giving them exposure to this data has let us do the 80/20 optimizations that significantly reduce our bill with minimal effort.
A small example was a refactoring of code that interacted with S3 for our Pages product. The new code was making GET requests where only HEAD requests were needed. CloudZero reported a cost anomaly within a day of deployment and it was seen and fixed by the team that owned the service the following day. The feedback cycle was quick enough that the code was still top of mind for the engineer, so we ended up with very little wasted spend and the fix was fast to implement.

What do you dislike about the product?
The platform doesn't have support for GCP, which we also use and could use similar tooling for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing transparency into AWS costs and helping us reduce them with minimal effort and cross team coordination.
Getting cost data closer to the employees that are making the decisions that impact it. The cost impact of changes for workloads that have moved from colocation facilities to AWS are largely controlled by the application development team, not the infrastructure team.
