Servers available for our customers, not for our competitors

What do you like best about the product?
Datadome’s AI algorithm and its ability to detect and block in real-time bot attacks. When we are under attack, the dashboard is very useful for us to note the attack but also to see that the AI is blocking automated traffic. Our websites also use multiple technologies (Linux, Hybris…) and the DataDome team has been able to integrate the module very easily on each technology.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Captcha part still not easy to personalize. Some real client see it and don't understand it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before setting up DataDome on our servers, our German & French websites were intensively crawled by scrapers bots and our team had to block IP addresses one by one. By setting-up DataDome, not only bots are blocked before coming on our websites, but we are also able to edit our own Custom Rules, allowing us to white- or blacklist ranges of IP addresses or countries.
Our market place is protected as well as our catalogs. Our websites are fully available for our customers. Not for our competitors.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try the trial period first and look at the bots DataDome is able to block.
Check also that the latency between your website and DataDome is OK.

Reducing our server load by 30%

What do you like best about the product?
The solution is well thought and it’s very interesting to get a better understanding of our traffic - even though we didn’t set-up DataDome for this purpose at the beginning.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wouldn’t say there is something I dislike about the solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were facing denials of service because of bot attacks. Our website was going down. Before setting-up DataDome when those attacks occured, we would fix the problem ourselves, in an old-fashioned way but we were not solving the issue. Since we’ve activated the protection our website is no longer a target for bad bots, our traffic is more stable, we have our server load under control and even better, we’ve been able to reduce it by 30%

Benefitting from cleaner analysis and a reduced server load

What do you like best about the product?
Setting-up DataDome on our servers was quick and efficient: a simple piece of code to copy on our servers. The DashBoard is also useful. It took us a bit of time to get used to the information displayed and how to play with it, but once done, it's easy. Most of all, this dashboard allows us to be independent for white- or blacklistings bots in complete autonomy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing special, this solution fits our needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main benefits we have realized thanks to DataDome is that we have a better overview and understanding of our incoming traffic. Indeed, before setting up the AI on our servers, bots were coming on our website and we had some skewed analytics. Our partners, mainly publishing house, are now able to better qualify their audience and have a better overview over who access published content.
The other advantages of setting up DataDome is that our infrastructure are less saturated and we are able to guarantee to our partners that content published on our website won’t be stolen by scraper bots as we have a full protection against them.

Enhancing user experience thanks to bot management

What do you like best about the product?
Apart from having full control over our website and its traffic, what we like the best is that we benefit from more reliable marketing data and we are now able to filter more effectively marketing agencies coming on our website from bad bots - when it was difficult only with Analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wouldn’t say there is something I dislike about the solution, it fits my needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By cleaning the incoming traffic from the beginning, we make sure our bandwidth is fully dedicated to the traffic we’d like to have either from customers or whitelisted marketing agencies. Since we’ve activated the solution, our bandwidth consumption dropped down by approx. 30%

Putting an end to DoS attacks

What do you like best about the product?
What I like the best is that I can add rules in real time. We had, for example, a partner that needed to hit our API. We simply asked them to use a specific user agent which was whitelisted in DataDome, and in two minutes we were all set.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having a bot management solution is not cheap.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were facing BOT attacks on our website, where BOTs were stealing our content. The main problem linked to those attacks is that the site couldn't keep up with interactions processing, servers were overloaded, and the website went down. Now and thanks to Datadome, it is the end of DoS attacks and our website is always available. Bots are still trying to find a way around the barriers and attack in new ways, but thanks to the database that is shared by all DataDome customers, new threats are quickly identified.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like the best is that not only the solution is easy to set-up on our servers and protects our website francemarches.com against attacks, but it is also compliant with the new GDPR regulation which came into effect in May 2018.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setting up the module on our servers required to find the right balance within the different level of protection. Indeed, before customizing the module according to our own Custom Rules some trusted partners were filtered with a Captcha when some bots weren’t. The sensitivity of the tool is very high but demonstrates its ability to detect new threats. However it need fine tuning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were facing unexplained traffic pikes which were slowing down francemarches.com and sometimes made it completely unavailable. Since we have activated the solution, the francemarches.com performances were automatically restored. As of today illegitimate traffic bot has dropped to 16%.
Companies which were scraping our content are also now completely blocked or have become a partner with a paying access.

Effective analytics and bot mitigation

What do you like best about the product?
DataDome is eay to use: setting it up on our servers was quick and simple and the use of dashboard is very intuitive, allowing us to manage our bot traffic in real time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I understand it is coming very soon in the roadmap but I wish we could have alerts in real time when endpoints are under attack or a traffic peak is observed by the articial intelligence.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not only do we benefit from a clear overview of the bot traffic, but we are also able to know when and by who our content is being accessed. In terms of benefit, we have been able to reduce our server load, we have a better understanding of our audience and most importantly access to our data is more secure (in compliancy with GDPR).
