Great technology and solid service for bot traffic blocking at scale

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of adoption/imtegration of their solution into our SaaS technology and their attention / service when issues arise.
What do you dislike about the product?
The level of detail regarding the bots being blocked could be improved, which would help us craft stories to our stakeholders and address sources of bot traffic more effectively. This is a minor concern overall.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
DataDome helpsmitigate bot traffic at scale in our enterprise advertiser integrations. We process millions of transactions daily across thousands of online advertisers, and DataDome's service effectively blocks bot traffic and provides us with an endpoint to understand what has been blocked. This helps us protect our customers' investments and

A tool not to worry about

What do you like best about the product?
DataDome is a good friend to us because it doesn't need to be care of, this tool manage himself and I don't have to be on his back all the time.
And when I need to configure anything it's alwas simple to do in the dashboard, or Datadome's team can help me if I need.
It protects our 35 websites (e-commerce and institutional) with their APIs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The hardest point when we use DataDome is that we can't know or understand why a request catch a captcha, I understand that it's from the algorithm and it will be very hard to explain in the dashboard, but when a customer ask why and we can't answer the question it's tough
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For our e-commerce website we have to be carefull about scraping by our competitor, and like everyone on the web, bad robots are everywhere and we have to be protect against them

What do you like best about the product?
Quality of bot protection and ratio of accuracy to price has been most important for our decision making process. During integration easy communciation with DataDome team and fast response time helped us a lot to solve our integration challanges. DataDome team has been also flexible and customer focused solving problems ona timely maneer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the solutions we have beein integrating are still in its infancy suffering from issues that were annoying during the integration process. I would like the solutions we were integrating to be better tested. On the other hand - we could benefit from early access to the features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The goal for DAtaDome integration was to detect bots accessing SoundCloud and generating fake traffic for tracks and creators and/or interacting with SoundCloud users spamming them with unwanted information. These problems got to large extent addressed with support of the DataDome team.

What do you like best about the product?

Their continued assistance with customer rules and fine-tuning the system to address any identified issues is invaluable. The intuitive dashboards provide exceptional data visibility, enhancing our control and decision-making processes. What do you dislike about the product?
One area where DataDome could enhance its offering is by providing more flexibility in serving different responses based on headers. Additionally, fine-tuning user management controls could offer more granularity, improving overall customisation options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
DataDome plays a pivotal role in blocking intensive scraping and credential stuffing attacks. By doing so, it significantly reduces the burden on our internal teams and alleviates the strain on our cloud infrastructure, ultimately leading to improved operational efficiency and cost savings.

Turn it on and block bots immediately

What do you like best about the product?
It took just a couple of hours to setup the servince and it start protection right away. Plus they have an amazing team that react very fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
It tooks some time to properly configure rules so website is not being blocked when engineers open DevConsole.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had an issue with an automated traffic that resulted in fraud. DataDome helped us to stop it and didn't require a lot of manual configuration.

What do you like best about the product?
The solution works as expected. DataDome was flexible and willing to respect our internal company policies and processed during the contract negotiation. They are also quick to respond when we need help.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are cases in which the solution requires tweaking to stop new types of attacks. This is of course natural for those types of tools as attackers are learning and evolving their attack strategies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
DataDome is helping us to prevent credential stuffing attacks by detecting the malicious activity on our login end points. It complements our other security controls in early detection of the malicious requests.

What do you like best about the product?
Simplicity of the dashboard

What do you like best about the product?
- Effective with low rate of false positive
- Excellent tech and support team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Prices tend to increase significantly over the years, especially on excess monthly quote, overages charges.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our platform was experiencing web scraping and other automated attacks. Our former bot detection tool couldn’t keep up; the attackers were able to bypass it. After we switched to DataDome, our system performance stabilized and we found that UX improved, thanks to low latency and minimum false positives.

Powerful tool with great UX & support

What do you like best about the product?
Datadome is quickly setup, easy to learn and navigate from a users perspective and does a great job of detecting & keeping malicious traffic away from your application. On top their support team is very responsive and for us always helped to sort out issues (in the rare cases where we had some). To give you one example: At some point we made a change in our product that confused the ML models in Datadome and resulted in much more captchas shown to regular users. Back then tracking false-positive rates for captchas shown to our customers in Datadome was also a tedious excercise because it meant looking into Excel exports. Datadome worked with us on improving false-positive rates and later added better UI to track false-positive rates to make our lives easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
ML models are both amazing and sometimes pain, because they're very blackboxish. We had that experience at some point in the past, where the ML model changed behaviour and it wasn't really clear on our side why. In the end we managed to reconcile and even improve with the help of Datadome, but I think this is worth pointing out when you're start using an ML based model, there's a chance that this could happen to you as well.

Another very nitpicky thing that comes to mind: In some cases you might also not want to run all of your traffic through Datadome. If you need a flexible solution there that goes beyond URLs and regex, you need to run your own customized Datadome worker on Cloudflare. That you can do this is great, but I would have preferred that the Datadome integration works better with Cloudflare configuration rules for example.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We mostly started using Datadome to keep malicious bots & scrapers away from our platform. It does a good job at this and the behaviour of Datadome is also fairly easy to observe both in Datadome itself, but also in other log systems (via custom headers that Datadome sends).

Great service, great support, but not a "set it and forget it" solution

What do you like best about the product?
Stability of our infrastructure is much better. For instance, DataDome blocked a DDoS attack 2 days ago that meant no downtime so that I could better enjoy my daughter's birthday. When signing up, I did not realize the benefits of the Threat Research team, but having a researcher available to look specifically at our attacks has made a big difference. The customer service team (and the fact that they have a technical background) has been wonderful.
What do you dislike about the product?
DataDome is not completely a "set it and forget it" solution. When problematic traffic is brought to DataDome's attention, they handle it very well. However, unless their algorithms automatically catch the problematic traffic, it still needs to be brought to DataDome's attention for review. Proactive monitoring with human reviews of traffic still needs to be done independently of DataDome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Greatly minimizes vulnerability scanning, DoS, and general scraping. Also takes a deep look at scraping/spamming attacks that are targeted specifically at our sites.
