CAST HIGHLIGHT features are EXCELLENT and makes the product outcome as BEST in Industry
What do you like best about the product?
Excellent design of UI looks and easy way to check all and portfolio insights. Based on the different features, the decision of product migration to cloud , improving code-quality in SDLC process makes easier job.
Navigation and documentation is very good. And any new user of Highlight can understand easily.
All the features like
Software Health,
Cloud Readiness,
SCA continuous updates for open sources which identifies the vulnerabilities,etc.,
Technical Debt,
Scoring/Grading methodology,
Portfolio views
Compaigns we can create and include surveys as per our requirement which helps for next steps.
Docker implementation.
Navigation and documentation is very good. And any new user of Highlight can understand easily.

What do you dislike about the product?
There are no much dislikes i can say in terms of features functionality and we are learning continuously with the new features in every release.
But interms of enhancement of features, i have below 2 items,
1. It will be good if we have some feature of portfolio dashboard like component catalog available to all types of users instead of only for portfolio manager.
2. Application level - user security provision will make secure dashboard instead of domain level security.

Mainly we are using it for open sources to make our products secure without vulnerabilities.

I will recommend to explore the features of product and can say surely any of the features will be helpful for best outcome of your product as per the standards.

CAST Highlight should be in your tool box when you're planning to migrate apps to any cloud
What do you like best about the product?
The vendor is always enhancing the product and coming out with more features and capabilities.
I also like the various analysis it does such as Rationalization, Cloud Readiness, Security posture and other health checks
The dashboard is great having all the information in one place and allowing you to filter in to something specific as you need.

What do you dislike about the product?
The duration between new version releases does take some time which is ok because it does require some effort to install the upgrade.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our Enterprise has a mandate to move out of a physical data center completely within 5 years. We need a roadmap of what to prioritize into phases to conduct the migration. We also need insight and recommendations on how to migrate. For example, should we retire some apps, re-host as a lift & shift, refactor, etc.
The new Cloud Portfolio Advisor helps to visualize this insight for our senior leadership!
Its great that this tool can be integrated into our tool chains and automated pipelines.You could even use the API to take integration even further!

Highlight ticked many boxes for our clients Digital and Delivery transformation
What do you like best about the product?
HL played a role not only in quickly providing us with an objective assessment of the portfolio we were looking to transform but through its CVE analysis brought to our attention certain risks we were not aware of at the time. The insights that surfaced after running the analysis significantly sped up our focus areas , decision making processes and we are actively using HL to monitor and trend the progress of a rationalization initiative and migration to the cloud of key apps. For the price HL offers tremendous value and the speed at which you get detail is excellent.
What do you dislike about the product?
so far we have not found much to dislike, the Highlight guys are constantly adding new features and expanding the offering which is keeping us on our toes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we have used HL to identify a key set of portfolio rationalization initiatives and are running it on our clients cloud migration projects as well as monitoring progress. Now looking to explore the use of the agile analytics feature to provide an objective view on comparable team delivery. our most note-able benefits to date have been the quick turn around of analysis and insight at a portfolio level which has greatly focused and sped up decision making on strategic initiatives.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The cloud readiness index is hugely powerful and unique to HL . Try and it for your clients in support of their cloud migration initiatives it will provide an excellent baseline assessment and starting point from which to plan and monitor which has been a key differentiator for us.
Using CAST Highlight with Tidal Migrations was a breeze
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to assess my client's entire application portfolio of custom software as well as COTS, side by side in one platform, really made our cloud migration smooth.
With CAST Highlight we were able to identify the low-hanging-fruit for cloud native transformation within the Tidal Migrations platform, and then dig deeper into specific areas of the codebases where we would need to focus on to be successful.

What do you dislike about the product?
It didn't come in blue, and I like blue. There's really nothing negative about this solution as it's really the only solution to this otherwise intractable problem.

Previously, we would spend hours and weeks working with clients in meetings and workshops to identify which applications to take to cloud, and how. Now we are able to apply software analysis to the problem, distilling our application portfolio down to a series of easy to understand software engineering metrics that are difficult to challenge.
This takes all the emotion out of the cloud journey and LETS YOU GET ON WITH IT.
Previously, we would spend hours and weeks working with clients in meetings and workshops to identify which applications to take to cloud, and how. Now we are able to apply software analysis to the problem, distilling our application portfolio down to a series of easy to understand software engineering metrics that are difficult to challenge.
This takes all the emotion out of the cloud journey and LETS YOU GET ON WITH IT.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do a free trial and show a screenshot to your engineering manager or cloud migration lead. They'll get it right away, and be shocked that this existed 9 times out of 10.
Excellent Application Portfolio Assessment Tool for Cloud Readiness
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, with an excellent interface. Really affordable and subscription based. I like the speed at which the data is collected and the visual charts helps to clearly see the application portfolio data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not sure yet that I have a dislike, but I'll update later if we discover any challenges.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Primarily it is objective data collection and tracking changes over time for app health.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
use the Trial - it is very helpful to see the advantages.
