What do you like best about the product?
It provides a convenient solution for implementing file sharing and printer services in a multi-platform environment while offering flexibility and security and yes its ready to go.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Samba Server provides extensive flexibility and features, configuring it properly can be complex, especially for users who are not familiar with the intricacies of SMB protocols and file sharing configurations. Understanding and fine-tuning the numerous configuration options and settings can be time-consuming and require a learning curve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Samba Server - Ready to Go solves the challenges of cross-platform file sharing, centralized file storage, access control, printer sharing, and integration with existing infrastructure. By addressing these problems, it simplifies file and printer management, promotes collaboration, and enhances productivity in networked environments.

The documentation is clear, and it's easy to deploy

Easy and fastest solution to deploy Samba server

This is by far the easiest solution to create and run a Samba server. All you have to do is create EBS volume and then add them in User Data. Those volumes will be available to your users as a share :)

The implementation is also very easy, they have easy to follow documentation available that explains how to set up the server.

It is also highly scalable, resilient, and secure since Administration access i.e SSH is disabled by default.

Highly recommend to anyone who doesn't want to go through the manual process of setting up their own Samba server and waste time learning complicated configurations.

Easy to install file sharing solution for AWS Linux instances

I managed to install this cheap Samba server in less then half an hour and could share files between multiple Linux EC2 instances, and all that without even configuring the server. Really easy to use and works like a charm. And all that in a very secure manner.

This samba server was so easy to set up. The fact that it automatically serves EBS drives using guest access out of the box would mean we don't need to even SSH to it to configure it. This is a great plug and play solution for those who want to share EBS drives within their corporate network. I also liked the fact that is secure by not allowing root access and is automatically restricted to client systems on the LAN.
