Very good product with questionable pricing and mediocre support
What do you like best about the product?
Good interaction between different components of Sophos (Firewall, RED, Access Points, ...), good configuration options to ensure IT security, many different features combined in one device, after initial difficulties with the Sophos Firewall software, the problems have been pretty much resolved with the latest updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing policy of Sophos has worsened in recent years, new components such as access points, which now have to be managed via Central, are not fully compatible with older ones, making a mixed environment almost impossible and forcing you to replace all existing components when expanding. The support has also deteriorated in recent years, employees speak very poor English and are hardly understandable on the phone.

The reliability and stability it brings to our clients’ networks is unmatched. The only challenge is that with so many advanced options, new administrators may take time to explore everything it offers. But once familiar, the range of controls becomes a real advantage rather than a limitation.

It has reduced security incidents, improved compliance with customer requirements, and given us stronger control over distributed networks. This has saved both time and operational costs while giving end users greater confidence in their IT environment.

My experience with Sophos Firewall has been largely positive. The ease of use is commendable, with an intuitive interface that simplifies monitoring and management. Implementation is straightforward, especially with pre-configured templates and wizards, which help speed up deployment.
Customer support has been responsive and helpful, addressing queries promptly and providing guidance for both routine and complex issues. The firewall is used frequently in our environment, and its robust feature set — including intrusion prevention, web filtering, VPN, and advanced reporting — meets most of our network security needs.
Integration with existing systems is relatively smooth, with support for centralized management via Sophos Central, making administration across multiple devices easier. Overall, it offers a good balance between functionality, usability, and support, making it a reliable choice for network security.

What do you dislike about the product?
I suggest showing the Storage Master Key under the Backup and Restore tab like the encryption password, as it’s required for restoring backups. Many users create an encryption password but are unaware of the Master Key in the console, so displaying it would reduce confusion.

Sophos Firewall protects our network from malware, ransomware, and unauthorized access while providing secure VPN and remote connectivity. Its centralized management simplifies monitoring and administration, making our network more secure and efficient.

What is most valuable?
Sophos XG is user-friendly, easily configured, and has all the latest features, including URL filtering.
I have used the Synchronized Security feature of Sophos XG along with the Heartbeat functionality, specifically the Security Heartbeat.
The filtering capabilities of Sophos XG are good and I find it user-friendly.
What needs improvement?
An area that could be improved is technical support's ticket registration process. Sometimes when I contact technical support, they do not register the tickets properly. They ask about registered mail ID and registration number when I am already under pressure. For instance, when the internet is not working or when I cannot apply certain rules, I am already stressed, but the tech support did not register the calls. This happened three to four months ago.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Sophos XG for one year.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
Installing Sophos XG is very easy, with no issues encountered.
The complete installation, including setting up all rules, takes approximately one and a half hours.
What other advice do I have?
I am familiar with Sophos XG.
We have purchased Sophos XG directly through Sophos, though I am not aware of the financial operations regarding the purchase.
I rate the technical support as eight out of ten.
On a scale of one to ten, I rate Sophos XG as eight.

What do you like best about the product?
We use the appliance exclusively as a web proxy for outgoing internet traffic. It is easy to handle and maintain. We have rarely had problems, and the implementation in our complex environment went relatively smoothly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The appliance requires a lot of storage space for logs, with a minimum of 200 GB for one month of logs, with an average of 700 users online for about 8 hours a day.

We have the need to operate many different internal networks with varying requirements and policies. However, this was successfully implemented with the Sophos Firewall Appliance.

Heavy resource usage (CPU/RAM) during scans, slowing down older machines on end point security & Limited Automation in MDR

We had a business case to deploy a cost effective firewall with exceptional capabilities and this prompted us to evaluate the Sophos firewall. We replaced the existing firewall which has less capability and costlier than Sophos firewall. Accordingly we got benefited with better performance, exceptional capabilities and cost savings.

There is firewall implemented in my network is Sophos and it help me to protect my users to use unwanted website and applications and block unwanted malware in my network. it protect my server from direct attack and protect server, it is easy to use, customer support is also good, it is easy to implement.

MFA is not good it need to improve MFA mathod.
