Fast, easy to set up in-house, and reliable
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
We like that we can use the C++ coding while working with it.
The speed is quite good.
It's mostly very stable.
The operating system is fine.
It's pretty simple to setup, and we can do it in-house as it is not complex.
The solution is open-source.
What needs improvement?
The network interface should be modernized. It's a bit out of date.
It could be more scalable.
For how long have I used the solution?
We've used the solution for one project. We've used it for a few months. I haven't used it for that long just yet.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It is stable and mostly reliable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze on us.

The scalability could be better.
We have two or three people using the solution right now and do not have plans to increase usage.

We did not use technical support. We've never had a need to reach out. I cannot speak to how helpful or responsive they would be.

I've also used CentOS. The setup and scalability are the same as Oracle.

The initial setup is straightforward. I haven't noticed any complexities. The deployment takes several days. It doesn't take too long.
We have a team that handles deployment and maintenance. There are about five people and they are engineers.

We handled the setup ourselves. We did not need outside help. Our support team could easily deploy it.

Secure, robust, and user-friendly
What is our primary use case?
Oracle DB is used in one of the use cases that you have worked on, specifically for the database aspect. It is likely that all of the solutions that have been deployed and are currently running use the Oracle database.
What is most valuable?
Oracle is well-known for its strong security measures. I have a great deal of confidence in the security of the Oracle DB, including its ability to monitor changes made to the database.
The interface is good.

In our company, we don't use it ourselves, but some of our clients have deployed it for their own use.

The number of users increases as our clients open more branches in their network. As the number of branches grows, so does the number of clients and users utilizing the system.
How are customer service and support?
What makes technical support easier for us is that the Oracle DB is used for the CVS that is used. Therefore, the same person who provides support for Oracle is also able to provide support for CVS, which simplifies the process for us.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
At present, we are not as closely associated with Process Maker as we are with Microsoft and IBM. This is because many of our clients also use SharePoint and Office 365.
I am currently in the process of learning more about SharePoint myself. While I have some experience with the design aspect, I am trying to improve my skills and knowledge in this area through training and practice.
In the past, we used Microsoft technology, but we made the switch to Oracle due to its superior security and robustness.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup process can be challenging and not particularly straightforward, but with effort and careful reading, it can be successfully achieved.
What about the implementation team?
The deployment was a team effort since it was a project being deployed for a client.
During the deployment, we had a project manager on-site who provided guidance on the steps involved in the process, particularly with regard to migrating from an Oracle environment.
The most significant challenge we encountered during the deployment was data migration from the old platform, which was an SQL version. Data cleanup was also a time-consuming issue that we faced. However, once the data had been cleaned and set up properly, the rest of the process became much easier.

We pay an annual subscription.
When it comes to budgeting, it is easier to plan for a new subscription because you can allocate a specific budget for it.

We use Oracle Linux for Virtualization Platform, DNS Servers, Database Servers and IT infrastructure observability tools
How has it helped my organization?
Orlacle Linux has provided a redhat compatible open source OS for diverse needs. We smoothly run on Oracle OS; KVM virtualization environment, Postgesql databases, Zabbix, Grafana, Fluentd and other observability tools. We have seen a remarkable improvement as DNS queries are fast and the platforms can be easily secured with no worries of security issues arising due to unpatched systems.
What is most valuable?
There is full compatibility with RedHat-based operating systems, in particular Centos, which we widely deployed before Oracle Linux (OL).
What needs improvement?
For usability, the GUI options during the initial setup could be included with advanced OS tuning and optimization, currently as with most Linux systems that can be done via CLI.
