Best cloud middleware.
What do you like best about the product?
Hi,
I work as Dell Boomi process developer, so from developer point of view,
1. It has many pre delivered connectors (successfactors, workday, SFTP, SOAP etc) which saves time to write custom logic to select and send data to/from systems.
2. It has groovy/java/javascript engine which supports any format to any format transformation.
3. Very low maintenance cost.
4. Very less admin work with compare to other middleware like SAP PI, IBM Message Broker etc.
5. Process design tool which is really very quick for any sort of composition logic.
6. Monitoring tool, you can see the payload, execution time. very helpful for debugging.
7. Failed message reprocessing capability.
8. Runs on cloud and on-premise both. You can design your SOA layer in on-premise and make available to cloud.
9.. may more...

What do you dislike about the product?
The platform downtown during the maintenance scheduled which affected my development on the integration. However, this does not affect the production integration executions which is good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Boomi to solve my clients' business problems and enhance their business processes. From manual data entry to automated data sync, customer data management, real-time inventory update, transaction sync, and etc.
The benefits would certainly be the precision of the data entered, time saved from managing the data manually.

Dell Boomi is an easy understanding platform with API management
What do you like best about the product?
I would recommend to people who require data management, and API management, In Boomi There are many functionalities which make you to easily process the data, the connectors make u to connect to specific customer. the best thing is api management ,where we can trigger the processes as wished.the community really helps the customers and consultants to gain the knowledge easily, and the customer support really helpful, when we ask any thing to them they will give support to us , and they will put a track on it, and they will be in touch with you till the problem is solved.
What do you dislike about the product?
To learn boomi easily there are less resources , It is good if they can add some functionalities rich working with high data. and they show add som tools like filtering the data , sorting the data so that, the process in can be more easily done by the developer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
for payroll kind of data , we can able to send the data daily, or by using api management , we can able to send the data in daily or hourly basis, the main business problems lies with working with big data , some times while processes we gets java heap error. it will be good if they can give accesses to manage the cloud heap space for process to process.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
compared to other tools , boomi is easy to implement,it is partnered with many customers.
B2B Developer on Dell Boomi
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Dell Boomi makes it easy to build custom processes using their gui interface. This part of the platform is much easier than other platforms in my experience. Mapping xml files and adding customized steps in the mapping process is also very easy to use and allows properties to be easily included in the mapping.
The ability to test processes on the build screen is also very helpful.
The ability to test processes on the build screen is also very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
We would save a lot of time if processes could be reused but allow the connector to be called dynamically. We build the same processes a lot which only have different connectors. The extensions are slow when loading as well, so I would like to have the ability to update an extension for one connector or property without loading everything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Dell Boomi as a file transfer platform to send and receive files via FTP, SSH, SSL, and through real-time web services. The platform is highly customizable and able to integrate with our current structure pretty smoothly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dell Boomi is an easy to use platform that works well out of the box, while at the same time allowing a lot of customization for developers with some basic coding experience.
Good tool for connecting different systems
What do you like best about the product?
Boomi has been super easy to pick up and work with. Its ease in development, quick deployment and maintenance is something which I am really impressed with. Community help for known issues, point and click implementation of logic with options to plug in code whenever required is something which lot of developer prefers and then admins can maintain. Also boomi employees have been really friendly in seeking feedback to improve their product and implementing user suggested enhancements from time to time.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are certain times when you have to beat around the bush to achieve something. I am sure with user feedback; boomi will keep on bringing those enhancements. Also there is lot of disconnect between knowledge share. Community helps to a good extent but the power of platform is not fully utilized. I have met people at user groups wherein they were really shocked to find out features which other people use and vice versa. Bridging the knowledge gap to take full advantage of platform is something I would request boomi to work on.

Great ETL tool
What do you like best about the product?
Boomi has components that are relatively easy to understand and use. The platform provides pre-built components for most ETL actions you'd want to perform, but still gives you the ability the script if needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although Boomi gives you the ability to subscribe to email alerts for process failures, this is not available in a Test environment, but should be. This might sound like a small item, but when you are managing multiple integration processes and have testing going on within the business, it is not acceptable that we have to log in and monitor these processes ourselves. Additionally, the Boomi licensing model is based on connections per atom, which can be confusing to manage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Boomi has allowed us to integrate our ERP (NetSuite) and CRM (Salesforce), as well as build numerous other integrations between systems. These integrations have made it possible to get more work done without adding additional headcount. The data feeding into our systems is more standardized and patterned because it is put there through automated ETL middleware, such as Boomi.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be aware and considerate of the licensing model (connections per atom) and plan accordingly.
Excellent tool
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to understand and build interface with encryption options.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing which really encourages not to work on Boomi.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integration between SF and other systems.
Why code when you can build? Dell Boomi :)
What do you like best about the product?
Boomi is constantly upgraded and improved. In the time I have used it, I have been impressed by the number of changes and improvements made.
1. Instead of "writing a program" to do the data movement, you might want to look at a commercial product that can accomplish this task is Dell Boomi .
2. Syncing data between databases
3. Error tracking
4. It would allow you to specify your requirements using a simple GUI interface and run the actual integration process "in the cloud."
5. Best of breed IaaS providers offer a single, seamless solution for Prior to selecting a Systems Integrator.
6. Compatibility of Applications & Systems:develop custom connectors quickly and easily via visual, drag- and Workflow.
7. Many connections available OOTB Database or HTTP client are rather trivial example but connectors available for Salesforce, NetSuite, JIRA and such many systems – which enables quicker development .
8. Boomi provides all the visuals to accurately map, and transform, data from one system to another.
9. Easy to set up a completely isolated test environment to put the integrations through their paces before deploying to production.
10. Compared to CastIron, the solution was much simpler to configure.

EXTREMELY poor debugging capabilities.
For coding where your beginner/typical/average programmer would find useful.
Better instructional documentation would help with several tasks. Often the documentation is more of a summary format and not a "Usage" guideline.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Boomi is exceptional when you need to integrate disparate systems in a comprehensive way. It is also very good when you have a lot of data that is synced overnight (not real time). It allows you to handle a lot of data, schedule it for when you need it to run, and alert you if there are any problems. It might not be a perfect fit if your integration needs to be real time, although the APIs do exist to allow this to be done if needed.
Solid product, generally easy to use and develop in. Java backend can cause memory issues, though
What do you like best about the product?
The large variety of prebuilt connectors was an immediate win for us. The ability to connect directly to our many cloud applications was a huge factor in our final decision to go with Boomi
What do you dislike about the product?
We are a heavy user, and memory issues cause issues especially at the beginning of the month. Also, some of the connectors end up working a little differently than others in terms of documents (Database vs Salesforce, for example)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our largest issue is integrating disparate cloud-based systems with on-premise (AWS) systems. Specifically Salesforce, Zuora, Intacct, MySql, etc. The out-of-the-box compatibility with all of those was huge for us.
