A distributed SQL database that offers several advantages for storing large amounts of data

  • March 07, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Scalability and Flexibility: CrateDB combines the best of both worlds by providing the benefits of an SQL database along with the scalability and flexibility typically associated with NoSQL databases. It can handle tens of thousands of records per second without breaking a sweat, making it suitable for large-scale data ingestion.

Horizontally Scalable and Fault-Tolerant: CrateDB clusters run well in virtualized and containerized environments. They remain horizontally scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant even under heavy load. This means you can easily expand your cluster as needed without compromising on performance or reliability.

Blazing-Fast Distributed Query Execution: CrateDB’s query execution engine parallelizes query workloads across the entire cluster, resulting in extremely fast query performance. Whetherwe run ad-hoc queries or complex aggregations, CrateDB handles them efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
I like User-Defined Functions (UDFs) when we can extend CrateDB’s functionality by creating custom user-defined functions (UDFs). I feel CrateDB can extend these even more one day.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
