Quick and Easy!

What do you like best about the product?
I've only been using it for about 6 months but I love how clean and to the point it is. I find my name and find out what my duties are for that day. I travel a lot so its really nice to be able to look at a week and see where in the country I may be. It allows me to start planning my travel and some sightseeing with plenty of time to spare so that once the time comes, I just get on a plane and go to work!
What do you dislike about the product?
There's no Android app. That's a big turn off but I manage. I'd really appreciate this functionality in the future.

I'm not sure if its just me but when I log in on my computer, each area takes up the whole screen. its quite strange. I have to scroll to the next person even though they should be smaller boxes. on my phone they are almost too squished to read and I haven't found a way manually size the boxes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a user I don't really solve any issue but some benefits are being able to see my and my coworkers schedules. My coworkers and I are all scattered around the country so its nice to be able to quickly look at an upcoming job then find out who is on it with me without having to call them all and find out who I'm working with!

Float Use Review

  • January 17, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use + how the data is organized (ie. colour code). The administrator can easily move tasks around to different days without a problem. It's also beneficial to put additional information in each task in the notes section of it.
What do you dislike about the product?
That you can't highlight information within each task. When you want to copy the information in the notes section, it can't be done.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it keeps the entire team organized + accountable for the tasks they have to accomplish. It cannot be changed by user so there's no excuse in not completing the task

Great and Simple Interface

  • January 17, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoyed how pleasant it was to use Float. Their interface is very simple and intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
If there was another I would have to dislike, it would be how hard it was to know how to add more than 1 event/schedule on the same day.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The business problem I am having is being able to manage my team's schedule and known who is where.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend the use of Float. It did satisfy our needs as a company but we just had no direct need for it at this time. We were looking at other solutions but I would say Float would have been our top choice if we had needed a solution like this one at this time.

  • January 17, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The program is very user friendly and intuitive. It is very easy to add users and set up projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
The program does not allow users to create "what if" scheduling scenarios to trial schedules in an off line environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Float gives a quick visual picture of capacity problems and availability.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a simple, cost effective tool for resource planning. It is very easy and fast to get up and running on it. It is always a balancing act between how much you want to invest inputting data vs. what you need to get out.

A top resource planning and scheduling tool

  • January 17, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use of Float it top class. From the creating of projects to assign resources to, creating of tasks in the projects and managing the milestones is super easy. The calendar grid format makes it really easy to see what resources are assigned to and makes it really simple to manage your resource scheduling. Access management is good too. The reporting is decent. The UI is a delight to work with. These days it is all about the user experience. We make use of the Float API suite too to automate the synchronisation (create, deletes and updates) of our team's approved leave request between our leave management system and Float. This saved us loads of manual work to ensure that information is the same across systems. There is not a lot you cannot do with Float.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only small gap I have found is a specific operational reporting requirement I had that the reporting suite didn’t cater for. I required a daily view for resources that did not exist. While there is a weekly view, it does not seem to offer a day-by-day report that can be imported into Excel (through CSV or other means).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Float UI is so easy to use. Doing resource allocation is quick and easy using Float. The API has helped us a lot and saved loads of manual work for syncing approved leave requests between our leave request system and Float. The reporting is good and covers most needs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Float is a well rounded product that caters for most of our planning and resourcing needs.
