Float ; An useful software for an easy planning

  • January 17, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?

Overall planning for teams, easy day-by-day task management, task categories, projet / customer management, api to retrieve planning on other software (such as notes calendar)
What do you dislike about the product?

Still quite difficult to manage 1/2 day task, no way to plan meeting easily
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Team management has always been quite messy on our teams, and no overall was available with Notes calendar, so Float has been worshiped when we got it
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're searching for an easy use planner go for it. If your needs are somehow way more complicated than just planning stuff for teams, you're about to be a bit disappointed

What do you dislike about the product?
The color combination is not that attractive, there should be an option to customize the theme for each organization
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Such a piece of good work enabler

Simple, easy traffic scheduling tool

  • January 17, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I loved the simplicity of adding projects, adding new resources and being able to see at a glance what everyone was working on - by looking at one schedule. I loved that it was cloud-based and could accessed from home or on any device. The help desk and support functionalities were great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our projects are short and some teams action a number of small projects ion a week and the schedule became messy to review, especially if multiple tasks in one day. Also, we needed a tool for staff to track time spent on a task and unfortunately the system didn't cater for this functionality. The Admin can become hectic if you don't keep a close eye on projects added and archived.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One view of all projects being worked on by the 'build' teams. Easy reports available to analyse capacity. In meetings we could access the info easily (cloud-based system) and the drill down to staff member level was great if reviewing each project individually.

Simplicity is key

  • January 17, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's very VERY easy use and has such a simple and clear interface. There are not too many nobs and button to confuse you so working with the timeline is like magic
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say that I would enjoy more of a modern look to the system even if it does not affect functionality
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to easily capture our time allocation on a week to week basis and with that in mind can easily prioritize our tasks per week. This just boosts efficiency and keeps developers focused on clients
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for simplicity and something that does not distract you, choose Float

Pleasant but could be better

  • January 17, 2019

What do you like best about the product?
how float gives the visibility on the number of projects running, the resources required on each project and the workload on everyone in the team.
What do you dislike about the product?
float has a tendency of hanging. on multiple occasions, resource work-blocks were input but were not reflected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
resource allocation and workflow - which ensures that work is distributed properly and reduces burnout rate

Float for project staffing forecast

  • January 17, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's a quick handy platform to manage the forecast for the staffing professionals and for the consultants to keep a track of their current and upcoming assignments
What do you dislike about the product?
It should add features for the consultants to add comments in case there is an issue in the forecast. At the moment, the challenge is that for any change, the consultants have to reach out to the staffing professional over emails while by adding this feature, they can exactly add comments to where the changes are required
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy tracking and managing of my project forecast. Also, one feature that can be added in this tool is to calculate the billable percentage of the consultants based on the forecast entered. This will give the consultants a view about their utilization and to plan accordingly
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Handy tool to manage staffing forecast

Great tool to use for scheduling in a creative studio

  • January 17, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Float is super easy to use. We love that we can select or make our own colours. Also love the new tentative feature, it has made planning projects so much easier!
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that we are unable to move jobs to the top of a person's WIP or change the order of jobs easily. Also, when duplicating jobs, the new Float causes the screen to go white and then when I refresh, my changes haven't been made. Also, the search function doesn't often work when searching for job numbers. The log is good but it would be good to be able to search for job numbers of the log without having to scroll through.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scheduling in studio. Everyone is able to stay on track and complete their tasks as they go so it's great for project management and timings
