Simple UI Makes Tasks Easy, But Needs More Details
What do you like best about the product?
Simple UI, easy to figure out generally what you're working on.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited task information, often only gives basic information about a task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Management does not have to do manual handoffs.
Essential, User-Friendly Tool for Team Scheduling and Task Management
What do you like best about the product?
Float is straightforward and highly user-friendly. I find it especially helpful for communicating with my team about work schedules and task assignments. Each day, it’s the first tool I open to check what needs to be accomplished.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of any drawbacks! The software is incredibly user-friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Float is a valuable tool for addressing time management and tracking, as well as work and project management. It has made a noticeable difference in how our team manages tasks and collaborates on projects.
Great Event Organization, But Needs Better Support for Overnight Scheduling
What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can categorize events and see everything in a clear fashion. I also like that there's a permission structure where folks can access information without accidently causing unintended changes (view only mode).
What do you dislike about the product?
As a training company, sometimes we work overnight events and as of now, Float won't let us block a continuous overnight block. I usually end up having to make more than one block to show the event's duration properly to my team.
I also kind of wish there were a schedule drafting space (which I believe there is technically, just not exactly what I need for my role).
I also kind of wish there were a schedule drafting space (which I believe there is technically, just not exactly what I need for my role).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Float is helping my team coordinate with other departments affected by the schedule without having to be boggled down by multiple emails. It's a one stop place for us.

Autologging can be annoying
Autologging can be annoying
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Float handles hour allocations and helps reconcile how long tasks take leading to better personnel scheduling. Also handles PTO requests and scheduling to make sure we have coverage on key projects.
Needs Improvement in Flexibility and Permissions
What do you like best about the product?
I find Float valuable for providing a centralized location to log hours and manage budgets. This feature simplifies tracking and configuration, ensuring that our project hours are efficiently monitored and aligned with budget constraints.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find Float's features to be somewhat complicated, cluttered, and clunky compared to platforms like Trello. The platform's interface doesn't allow for the ease of movement and task-based organization that I'm accustomed to, such as viewing tasks in a Kanban board. The scheduling feature is also not very useful to me because it doesn't suit how our project timelines work. Additionally, Float feels limited in capability and flexibility, and I haven't found a great way to utilize it effectively. As a result, I am considering returning to using Trello alongside Float.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Float to log hours and manage budgets efficiently in a single place, making it easier to track work and financials together.
Super Clean, User-Friendly UI
What do you like best about the product?
The UI is super clean and user-friendly!
What do you dislike about the product?
More details could be shown on hover to find out what users need to know quicker.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In a glimpse, I know exactly how much time I have to allocate to each project any given week. It allows me to identify if time allocation is realistic or if I believe that some task will eat another one's time and raise a flag or prioritize as needed.
User-Friendly Interface Makes Interaction a Breeze
What do you like best about the product?
It has a very easy interface to understand and interact with.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think that you should be able to add meetings
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The way my company has it organized makes it so that I can see exactly how much I am supposed to work on a project based on my float schedule
Great Visibility and Flexibility, But Time Tracking Needs Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
It aligns well with how we view our business and operations. It provides good visibility into the availability of our team and is flexible so we can view the data from multiple different vantage points (ie: Total hours, per team, per client, per project, etc)
What do you dislike about the product?
Its difficult to keep float up to date as time passes, the time tracking features aren't as robust as we need, so we use an external tool and try to keep it in sync with planned vs. actual as much as possible
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing visibility into exactly how our team is being utilized, identifying the gaps in resource allocation so we can actively work to fill those gaps, and uncovering overages which could signal the need to push out a timeline or adjust the delivery of a project
Effortless Daily Scheduling with Float and Seamless Integration
What do you like best about the product?
It helps me to follow my day to day schedule with a lot of ease. I use it everyday to check my bookings. I love how easy it is to integrate. Although I only use it for my daily bookings but the number of features in it are vast.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far I haven't experienced anything that I do not like about Float particularly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me to be on top of my bookings everyday and helps me to track my time eddiciently.
Director, Resource Management
What do you like best about the product?
I like that the interface is user friendly and it is easy to train and onboard new users. The platform also appears modern and designed well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think there is room for improvement on the budget section of the projects. Ideally I would like to capture budget by person or role/title on a project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use float to schedule employee time against projects - we use that data to help us identify individuals with bandwidth to take on last minute projects and asks. Individuals use float as a guide to what they should be focusing on day to day.
