Intuitive Resource Management with Room for Personalization
What do you like best about the product?
I find Float incredibly useful for resource management at my brand management agency. It allows us to efficiently monitor how work hours are allocated among team members, facilitating accountability and providing a clear view of the team's activities for the week. Float's intuitive platform is impressive, as it operates without requiring complex login procedures, making it easy to use right out of the box. The ability to see everyone's workload and make necessary adjustments helps ensure that our small team remains productive and that no one is over or underburdened. This is particularly beneficial considering we operate with varied budgets. The schedule feature is fantastic, offering transparency not only about my tasks but also about the entire team's commitments, which is crucial for our global operations. I appreciate the project planning feature, which offers a simple yet effective roadmap for our projects, enhancing our planning capabilities significantly. The recording tab that displays the billable versus non-billable time helps maintain clarity in our financial assessments, preventing oversight. Overall, the ease of use and the practical insights it provides are why I continue to appreciate Float.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think having more personalization would be really helpful. Our team setup does not currently allow each user to update their own schedule – instead, project managers manage this. It would be better if users had more ownership and personalization in updating their schedules.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Float to manage team resourcing, ensuring workload balance and improving accountability, which helps us optimize operations weekly.

Scheduling and resourcing
Great for Team Scheduling, But Drag-and-Drop Can Be Tricky
What do you like best about the product?
It's helpful to be able to see all the team's schedule in one place and be able to easily transfer the bookings from one to another by dragging or entering their name. Adding team members and implementing to our regular process has been easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when moving bookings, it can be finicky and changes are made unintentionally such as length of booking, moving it to the wrong person, etc. Sometimes when changes are made by someone else, it doesnt show up on my screen until refreshed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to manage resources and it shows when a resource is fully booked for the day and the PMs know not to keep adding bookings on that resource and look for support elsewhere.

Keeping all resources utilized without going over capacity. Able to pre-plan projects and view the company as a whole in order to make changes

What do you like best about the product?
visual calendar style for each day; usability and user friendly; schedule view

that I always forget to log my time (whoops!) or moreso, I feel overwhelmed doing it since i work across a few projects and procrastinate and then panic do it on tues/wed of the following week (to my PM's frustration)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work for an agency and am a marketing director. We have 36 team members and most are designers, developers, or PMs. I am the only one in my role (I act as more of an in-house marketing consultant/one-person agency) and I am one of the few staff that will work across multiple projects at a time, versus other staff who will be assigned FT to one project for a few weeks. Float allows me to be scheduled across projects and visualize my time, and adjust as necessary
Easy to Use with Great Functionality
What do you like best about the product?
I like its ease of use and functionality.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does glitch every now and then. There have been times where I will click to edit a booking and the booking would disappear, so I'd have to refresh the page. Unsure why this happens--maybe I left the page open for too long?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Float is a great central place to see all of my bookings for the day along with any links and information that I need to get set up on my work.

It is user friendly, easy to use and manage projects

Sometimes there are some quirks, which causes and makes me a bit uncomfortable using it

I like the ability to easily run reports and check budgets

I would like to have the teams costs in as well as charge out rates to get a more accurate view on profitability

It helps with resource planning, I can see what projects everyone is one and when people are free to take on more work

Allows me to know what project im scheduled to do as well as the hours needed for them. It also helps me understand what my team members are working on any given day.

I found Float to be excellent and an integral tool for my company over the last eight months. It is particularly easy to use and set up, which made the initial implementation smooth and hassle-free. I have had no issues with Float, which speaks volumes about its reliability. The software includes practical scheduling features that make it very easy to see what is planned ahead and adapt to changes that occur during the day. This flexibility in managing schedules is a major advantage, especially when handling multiple people’s timelines. The ability to visualize schedules and account for daily activities efficiently makes Float a critical tool in my daily workflow. Additionally, I appreciate its ability to enhance timekeeping and ensure accountability.
