Fantastic tool

  • January 16, 2019

What do you like best about the product?
Float has saved our team so much time and trouble by allowing us to do scheduling flexibly. Our team loves using this, and this has helped us to maximize our resources.
What do you dislike about the product?
When we first started using the platform, it was a little clunky to edit events. But over time, as we provided feedback to the Float team, they've been extremely receptive and have improved the platform significantly in response.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trying to figure out how to best allocate and track projects among a team. This has saved us lots of time and we are able to figure out what everyone is working on. We're also able to use the tool to better find bottlenecks in our work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a shot - you won't be disappointed.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the control panel user interface. It is a web based solution that accepts one to drag and drop schedules. one can also have many people under one project and assign tasks
What do you dislike about the product?
Adding departments is hidden and the specific departments are not present in the panel as a drop down
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Resource management was quite a task and it is now way easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend this simple software for project managers. It is simple and great

Resource management easily

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use intuitive application. Everybody uses it at our company to check what is planned for him/her for the next few days/weeks. Projects / clients can be added and differentiate them with different colors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to say anything bad about it. Cannot easily set special workdays, like some saturdays.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This year we doubled our team, this happened so fast, that it lead to a little chaos. It was solved with proper resource managent using Float.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We have 4 teams, with about 6 members / team. This amount of people can only be organized and managed with such resource planning / management tool.

Simple to use and perfect for scheduling

What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is really easy to use. You can colour code all of your project, drag, drop or duplicate tasks. It's lightweight so you can update tasks quickly without needing detailed project info.
What do you dislike about the product?
The allocation of time across multiple days. I would prefer to do it manually and it can be a bit tricky to update time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows me to keep track of my time availability over coming weeks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Perfect for individuals or teams of up to 20 people to keep track of their schedules. Ideal if you like a visual, at a glance, guide.

    Arts and Crafts

Designed for the user in mind

What do you like best about the product?
Very handy to get to where I want with ease. Find it great that I can find out no just what project im working on, but company-wide data. The search system is very intuitive, for example not just searching people but extending to job roles, departments.. etc
What do you dislike about the product?
Frustrating how I can't go back in time further than a week - as an intern it would be great to see what projects I've been working on in a calendar view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A quick and easy system that allows the company to see what everyone getting up too. There are a vast amount of projects going on and this helps accumulate everything in one place. Every design agency needs this piece of software!

Fast, east to use scheduling solution

  • December 06, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Float keeps things simple, simplicity of use and simple clear presentation of data. Easy access via browsers and the fully featured app mean team members have no barriers to accessing the schedule and the overall simplicity and clarity mean they actually like to use it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Could perhaps do with a couple of additional features, but not so many that its simplicity suffers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A clear and easy to use schedule for the entire team to view and use, everyone knows what's going on and what everyone else is doing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want a quick and easy to use "light" scheduling solution then Float is ideal. The smooth UX will ensure that your team actually do use it.

Great for scheduling, could use some upgrades But does the job!

What do you like best about the product?
Its a great tool to manage / automate scheduling for resources. Would recommend it over a manual process for sure! I would also like to have the ability to create more detailed job assignments per resource so that
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see a resource request pool for when you need resources and none are available. Currently you have to create a fictional user and assign tasks to them until divied up. Users currently have roles but it doesn't go into detail on their expertise of said role.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scheduling / resource management. It is way better than excel and more automated. Less opportunity for mistakes. It allows you to see across multiple regions for resources to find subject matter experts if possible.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend float for users with a broad range of resources.

    Computer Software

Float is part of our team

  • November 06, 2018

What do you like best about the product?
The schedule view is the best around, and we've tried a few. It's replaced our spreadsheets, we now have a clear view now on who's working on what. We're able to plan our time off, and we use the unassigned roles to log upcoming work. We use the Slack app to keep track of changes as they happen. The new iOS app has been handy too.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd love to be able to add our project budgets to track those, but I hear that feature is coming soon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Float saves us a lot of time we previously spent in spreadsheets. We have multiple projects on the go and so it's great to be able to have a single view of them all and a quick snapshot of everyone's capacity.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for it, it's the best scheduling tool we've used and the support is superb.

Functional, but difficult UI

  • September 22, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It allows me to schedule my time among various, billable projects as well as for time off. Others like being able to use that to project cash flow.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is really difficult to use. While it does seem to be improving, it requires fore knowledge of unintuitive UI elements that don't outwardly suggest being interactive and also fine-grained mouse clicking on distinct elements that are very close together.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For me as an employee, it solves the problem of booking time off. For others, it helps them estimate future cashflow.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ask them to write a new UI. The functionality is fine as far as I can tell, but their UI really needs some more attention to detail and user experience.

Inexpensive resource management tool

What do you like best about the product?
Float allows us to customize how we use the tool to complement our billing system and maximize our human capital.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish we could tie it to our billing system and only have one point of data entry.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Better equips us to see when staff is available for assignment to a project.
