Commvault Cloud: Backup Tool
What do you like best about the product?
We use commvault for our SAP systems backups to cloud. It manages all of our Prod, QA, Dev, Test and SBX environment backups. The scalability is top notch as mentioned previously it is managing a huge landscape of 500+ systems with around 3000+ servers. It is easy to use and the UI is friendly. It also provides insights on the backups for different servers.
The best part is PIT(Point in time recovery for HANA systems where it restores the target system with combination of Full& Incremental backups to the same time as Prod Environments). I love this feature in commvault.
It has some best features in the industry like:
1. Multi Cloud support if we want to use any other cloud to upload the data.
2. Scalability for huge landscapes.
3. Data Deduplication for saving the space hence reducing the cost.
4. Provides the encryption and limited access for security.
5. Last but not the least, the Automation of the backups which reduces a lot of manual work.

What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike they provide best services in the industry compared to the competition. Except for the maintenance, it takes some effort to do it but any service will need it so I ignored it. The cost can be little lower as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automating the backups, Trigerring the alerts if the backup fails and giving fixes for the issues occurred.

What do you like best about the product?
the best thing I like about Commvault Hyperscale X is that It made it very easy to protect all the workloads like container and database and other at one place
What do you dislike about the product?
Price is an issue but the ROI it gives made me neglect the price

It helps in Scale out the digital transformation journey with scalability, resiliency.

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing is we are able to fully integrate all the things which in case of other OEM was not there

Its complex and sometimes problmatic in case of system upgrades

Its ease of integration with all the products and simpler to put in production also.
Great Commvault support
What do you like best about the product?
Whenever you have issues, and even with a good product like Commvault these happen, their support is terrific. They will go above and beyond to get you back up and working.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their documentation is good, in fact too good. There is so much of it, it is sometimes hard to get an answer to a question.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping our virtual servers and mainframes safe.
Works well, but not without flaws
What do you like best about the product?
It offers good coverage of platforms (Windows, Linux, MacOS, Oracle, et al.), and good performance. Azure connections are good.
What do you dislike about the product?
The old Java-based console is being put out to pasture, but the HTM-based console doesn't have all the features yet. It's very frustrating for sysadmin-level users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It protects our data, and replicates it to the DR site.
Good support - which is needed a lot
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to open support tickets and CommVault staff respond promptly. The majority of support analysts are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful so most tickets are resolved quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
CommVault is an incredibly complicated system and the company has a bad habit of deprecating features with little notice so that long time clients end up with an installation that no longer matches the "standard" configuration of a new client. The support team is responsive and friendly but you'll need them a lot. In the past year I've opened 57 support tickets - more than one every week - and there are still features that don't work properly. CommVault is not a system you will implement on your own. Initial installation and, I would suggest, any significant change will require Professional Services which comes at an additional cost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We want to use CommVault for both backup and malware protection but attempts to restore files and complete virtual machines from backup regularly encounter problems which necessitate the creation of a support ticket.

For taking backup it makes much easier with configuration as user friendly

Nil we were using it for so many days no issues observed

Most Robust Unified Data Protection Solution
What do you like best about the product?
Commvault can be integrated with almost any system like heterogeneous, and it is now towards to way more visionary
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing that I will say about the Commcel console is that it needs proper training for the configuration changes

For most critical backup can be integrated with commvault near zero RTo capability with instant cloning and much more
Metallic Backup Experience
What do you like best about the product?
The the Metallic Backup solution has the best security mechanism. So we don't want to be worried about that.
What do you dislike about the product?
Actually it cost is high. So I suggest if the cost going down is better

Physical server maintenance is no longer available.
