Efficient, Customizable, and Lightweight OS
What do you like best about the product?
I use Ubuntu on my personal computer for daily usage, development, and deployments. It's highly customizable and very fast, which I really like. Anything can be installed quickly, and I can install any GUI on it by just running a command, and it's installed and configured in a fraction of seconds. It consumes very little CPU and RAM, which is a big plus for me. The initial setup is also very easy, just install LTS and boot.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it becomes incompatible with underlying hardware like speakers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu uses less CPU and RAM, making it ideal for my daily tasks, developments, and deployments. It's highly customizable, fast, and allows quick installation of software, enhancing my efficiency.

What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is my favorite OS. The UI is very comfortable and allows me to multitask easily with many customization options. I really enjoy the 100% control over the machine, especially using the terminal.

Ubuntu's UI helps me multitask easily with many customization options. I have full control over the machine with the terminal. Most work was difficult on Windows but is manageable with Ubuntu.

What do you like best about the product?
I love that Ubuntu is open source and can be tailored to my needs. I like that the desktop environment it comes with is very usable right out of the box. The Snap Store makes installing basic apps super easy, even if you aren’t a computer science person. I also appreciate that Ubuntu has zero advertisements, and the presentable bloatware is minimal. It's light enough while being useful, allowing it to effectively revive old hardware.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe if it shipped with Chrome it would be better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu is an open-source OS I tailor to my current needs. Its desktop environment is very usable out of the box, and the Snap Store makes app installation simple. It has minimal bloatware and can revive old hardware effectively.

What do you like best about the product?
I like Ubuntu for its safety features as it keeps the data safe. It's actually good for the hacking and cybersecurity thing.

The UI/UX sometimes catches some lag and takes more space in the RAM.

Ubuntu: A Developer's Dream OS
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how the terminal on Ubuntu is a first-class citizen, allowing me to do everything from the CLI with powerful text tools like grep, sed, awk, and jq, and it's easy to automate with bash scripts. This makes me work faster than GUI-only workflows, which is huge for debugging, logs, servers, and CI/CD. Ubuntu shines in development because these native tools aren't workarounds and provide great support for programming and SDKs like Node.js, Python, .NET, Java, and more. I appreciate that Ubuntu doesn't try to impress but strives not to break, with Long-Term Support releases and security updates without chaos, which is perfect for long-running services and serious dev work. The ease of using Ubuntu for the same OS in both local development and production, better Docker and CI/CD experiences, and easier backend and cloud deployments are significant advantages for me. Additionally, the simplicity of Ubuntu and the very easy initial setup are definite pluses.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that battery life on laptops running Ubuntu is often worse than on Windows or macOS. The power profiles aren't always optimal, which is something that could be improved with smarter defaults and better laptop-first tuning.

Ubuntu solves having the same OS for development and production, provides a better Docker and CI/CD experience, and simplifies backend and cloud deployments.
Excellent for Development, Needs Software Support Boost
What do you like best about the product?
I use Ubuntu for development and server-related tasks. It's very good for coding and development, and I appreciate that it's free—no need for a license to use it. Ubuntu runs very fast, and the terminal is excellent for both developing and server tasks. Backend development is particularly easy on Ubuntu, and I can run backend projects seamlessly. The system runs smoothly even when I'm working on multiple backend projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Software support needs to be improved like Windows. Popular software should have an official Linux version, and games developers need to launch games for Linux also.

Ubuntu is great for coding and development tasks, it's free and doesn't require a license. It runs very fast, and backend development is easy, with a smooth system performance.
Lightweight OS with AWS Compatibility, But Offline Challenges
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Ubuntu is a lightweight and open-source operating system. It works efficiently on less core and RAM, and it does the job well. I find it faster than Windows and appreciate that it operates without any GUI processing fuss. I also like its compatibility with applications and its availability on platforms like AWS, which makes it easy to create an Amazon EC2 instance and install software like NGINX.
What do you dislike about the product?
Working in an air-gapped environment with Ubuntu is challenging. It's really difficult to bring in packages, set up, or install any applications and transfer data across different operating systems. Providing updates is cumbersome, especially in offline environments. Containerization isn't feasible offline; unlike Redhat which has OpenShift, Kubernetes doesn't work well without internet for Ubuntu.

Perfect for Revitalizing Older Devices
What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is the best operating system for low-end devices, especially for my 8-year-old laptop that doesn't run Windows well. I appreciate the user interface and the control I have over my system, particularly with fast switching of tabs and the ability to control everything via the terminal. The initial setup was very easy.

What do you like best about the product?
I like Ubuntu because it's very fast and secure for software development. I find it easy to navigate, and it's very helpful that we can install anything via the terminal. The ability to easily search and pin apps to the left sidebar saves me a lot of searching time, allowing me to navigate directly to frequently used apps. The initial setup is very easy; creating a bootable pendrive and installing directly on system restart is straightforward.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the speed of sudo is very slow, which could be improved. Also, the power management doesn't perform well. Another area for improvement is the UI and graphics; they currently lack a consistent visual theme, and the fonts differ with third-party apps.

I use Ubuntu for software development because it's fast, secure, and easy to navigate. Installing via terminal simplifies processes. I save time by pinning frequently used apps to the sidebar for quick access.

I use Ubuntu for server purposes, like hosting websites, running my DNS server, and Python and Node.js backends, as well as for FTP. It's a low-cost OS and runs on minimal system configuration, which is really good. I also like that there are lots of packages available, and many apps are built for it. It's easy to set up and provides a good experience.

I wish Ubuntu had a more efficient and optimized GUI, similar to macOS, then it would be my daily OS for my system.
