User-Friendly GUI, But Stability Issues for Production

  • November 28, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Ubuntu's ease of interaction and graphical user interface, which stands out compared to alternatives like RHEL, making it more user-friendly for running production workloads without much hassle. I love the extensive package availability and straightforward installation steps, which simplify setting up and maintaining the system. The support provided for Ubuntu is commendable, providing confidence in resolving issues and queries. The GUI offers a smoother and more intuitive experience which enhances productivity and usability.
What do you dislike about the product?
I often face system crashes with Ubuntu, which limits its reliability for production workloads. This instability is a significant drawback that prevents me from fully adopting Ubuntu compared to alternatives like RHEL. Additionally, there’s a lack of equivalent functionality to RHEL, particularly with features such as IDM (Identity Management), which are not as straightforward in Ubuntu. These issues represent the main areas where Ubuntu lags behind other solutions in meeting my professional needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Ubuntu for its ease of interaction and GUI for running production workloads without much hassle, benefiting from package availability and support. However, I face system crashes, which hinder its broader use for production.

A Versatile and Reliable Tool for Cybersecurity Enthusiasts

  • November 26, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Its perfect balance between simplicity and power. As a cybersecurity enthusiast, I greatly value that it is such a stable and reliable distribution, which gives me confidence when running scripts or analysis tools. The ability to use it in Live mode from a USB is incredibly useful for forensic tasks and removing malware on compromised systems without altering the environment. Furthermore, its integration with Windows through WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux) is an absolute game-changer, allowing me to install and use Linux tools directly in Windows 10, merging the best of both worlds for my workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial dependency on the terminal for advanced installations. Although I understand it's a core feature of Linux, for users coming from Windows, the need to use commands like apt-get or snap to install many programs (especially cybersecurity tools not found in the software store) can present a steep learning curve. Sometimes you miss the simplicity of double-clicking an .exe installer. However, once this initial barrier is overcome, you discover it's actually a faster and more efficient method.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Learning and Testing Environment: It allows me to create secure labs (using virtual machines or the Live mode itself) to test tools like those in Kali Linux, safely analyze malware, and practice pentesting techniques without risking my main system. This is fundamental for my growth in the cybersecurity field.

Tool Unification: Through WSL, it solves the problem of environment fragmentation. I can now use Windows PowerShell and the Ubuntu terminal with its powerful tools (like grep, nmap, python3) natively on the same machine, without needing to reboot or switch operating systems. This significantly streamlines my work.

Confidence and Stability: Being such a reliable system, it benefits me by providing a solid foundation for my projects. I can trust that the system won't crash unexpectedly while I'm running a complex script or analyzing a network, which is crucial in this field.
