What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is an widely used Operation System used by the developers to develop many Software. The best thing that I like about Ubuntu that it is open source. Anyone can easily manipulate the internal code of the OS and use it as he/she want. It is free from virus and free of cost. The User Interface of Ubuntu is very easy to use and Understand. The terminal of ubuntu is very cool, you can customize it according to you. As a Software Developer I only use Ubuntu for making my projects and Software.
What do you dislike about the product?
The thing that I dislike about ubuntu is that it is only useful for Developers and Software Engineers. For Non-technical users it is not for that much use as they are not aware of commands. There is also frequent updates come in Ubuntu which irritates me so much. Sometimes my laptop gets heated when I use Ubuntu.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a Software Developer and I am using Ubuntu for past 3 years. I make my projects with the help of Ubuntu. Recently I made a Machine Learning project which uses OpenCV. Ubuntu makes my work very easy it has inbuilt software and packages for python that can be accessed just by typing a simple command on terminal.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are a Software Developer then Ubuntu will surely help you in your projects, you can easily complete your projects with the help of Ubuntu. But if you are not from technical field then Ubuntu is not good for you, you can use some other Operating System such as Windows.

The Best Operating System for Application Development.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
For Software development, this is the best platform any developer can use, any developer enjoys the bash command line. It's open-source and for most of the software that I use, I do not need to purchase any product key. It is secure, I do not need an antivirus to secure my data. It can run on any hardware no matter how old it is. You are able to run it even without installing it. Ubuntu also supports windows tiling. You are able to update ubuntu even without restarting.
What do you dislike about the product?
For nongeeks this operating system can be a bit challenging since most activities you do, are achieved with the terminal and always asking for root access which can be a hard spot for the majority of people who are not tech-savvy. For graphic designers, this is a hard spot for them, one ubuntu it is really hard to install graphic drivers. The best softwares that are best for graphic design are not available in ubuntu. It is not eye catching like other operating system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using ubuntu to develop and design my web applications and websites.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Most users since day one they started using a computer, they are always familiar with windows, maybe ubuntu can try to reach that audience, by coming up with a software that takes care of the needs of windows, nontech people.

User friendly Linux based operating system.

What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu's different "flavours" allow you to personalise your desktop experience to what you'll be primarily using it for.Ubuntu Studio is good for musicians and graphical artists, and has a lot of the standard tools you need pre-installed.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's still Linux, and that means it can be daunting to someone who isn't experienced with that operating system. That being said, more and more of the operating system just works out of the box these days, so it's not as sharp a learning curve as it once was.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've recorded a lot of music using the Ardour DAW. Ubuntu studio allows me to run my firewire audio interface at around 6ms latency so it's basically able to do live processing. That really helps me write and create and hear what I'm doing in realtime.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Download the Studio flavour if you're wanting to write music it's a must.
