Amazing OS and available for free
What do you like best about the product?
One of the amazing things is that It is open source and hence available for Free. It is highly customizable. We can customize according to our needs. You can use any theme that may be macOS, Windows, and even a mix of multiple themes. You can control all the networking and server aspects, which are essential for any developer to work. These things become very much tricky when we use other operating systems like Windows. Ubuntu is one of the widely used distros worldwide, so you can quickly get community support for the problem you plan to fix.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, they do get brake automatically when they are dual booted with Windows. They don't have good disk recovery settings if the PC is not closed in an appropriate way or sudden power cut of the pc, which can ultimately lead to breaking the operating systems and need to be reinstalled only. Sometimes the processes are not very well managed by the Kernel and require a force stop by the power button. This makes the OS irresponsive to the heavy software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I mostly use Ubuntu for development. The web application requires frequent managing of different servers and availability of different ports that a developer can manage easily and make them available according to its requirements. These features help to develop the applications faster and in a much cleaner way. I increased my productivity because of the comfortable support available for all the problems that we usually face.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are many Linux based distros available in the market, but Ubuntu is one of the user-friendly distros and is good for the beginners. If you are planning to switch to a Linux based operating system. I would highly recommend installing this operating system.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu is the operating system that I use at my work. I work as software developer and it's very easy to use Linux because of the need of a lot of ssh, Docker and kubernetes containerization.

You can try it first before deciding on using if permanently, it has this plug and play mode where you can use a flash drive to get going and try the application. If you think this fits your needs, you can go ahead and install it.
Safer Faster Better
What do you like best about the product?
I like the safety. No virus, no hang. Especially for developers or corporates should use Ubuntu only. At first, it may feel difficult but once you know how to use you can do anything.
What do you dislike about the product?
The softwares that are availble for windows or mac are not supported by ubuntu. I have to learn Ubuntu and master it to use it properly. No for beginners and gamers. Also, I have an issue with the available apps. Secondly, when I download some apps they are not fully supported by Ubuntu.

A nice linux distrubution preconfigured for beginners
What do you like best about the product?
This operating system can be used without prior Linux terminal knowledge and has very good compatibility with most of the software regularly used in IT and Office environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Perhaps the default configurations could be improved, so the user could provide more inputs during the installation. While the configuration is easy, Ubuntu could be inproved by having a more comprehensive GUI configuration process and manual.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a free operating system with fewer bugs than Windows and that I can easily fix without calling support. With Ubuntu we can finally drop significantly maintaining licensing costs related to Microsoft product such as Active Directory Microsoft 365 and many other software that anyway don't work at all on Linux based operating system. Furthermore, the system is very straightforward to start with even for non-tech related workforce, I trully believe that such a software should be wildspread in all public workforce as it is ammoral to use tax payers' money for commercial products such as Microsoft ones when free public alternatives exist. Especilly that there is close to no learning curve.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go ahead; it's very simple and straightforward. I recommend to skip the configuration part and to simply look for resource material online to strenghten your knowledge of the product. It may look easy when you start with, but it's yet a complete Linux distribution allowing you to go as far as you wish in your understanding of the OS.
A post/review for noobs in the linux community
What do you like best about the product?
Ubunutu from the very beginning has consistently been upgrading itself and the recent desktop upgrade to GNOME has been the best.
I in particular have used many versions of ubuntu, not just limited to 14.04, 16.04 and 18.04.
Ubuntu is also the best in maintaining security for its users and constant updates.

What do you dislike about the product?
The thing I dislike is I can't use some of my favourite softwares on Ubuntu, for example Adobe softwares (Acrobat, photoshop etc), microsoft office, onedrive, Google drive and games like csgo, GTA etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving the problems of security with ubuntu, since it is almost impossible to hack the root directory of any linux based distro.
The benefits I have realised are that ubuntu is very fast in booting, I have a Pentium laptop with ubuntu that boots faster than my other laptop with i5 and windows.
Also, I have noted that ubuntu keeps the memory processes at low thus giving much faster environment to work with.

Your best bet in scientific field
What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu allows unparalleled access to tools and software for carrying out research in any scientific field. As a programmer myself, the ease of using programming tools and intuitive library management has made my stick to this operating system for the past 12 years. Configuring work environment is a breeze when you do any kind of software developments. The availability of open-source software in the Ubuntu software centre has increased considerably these years, at this point I don't see any reason to switch to any other operating system. Ubuntu's desktop has a clean, straightforward layout out of the box. Most people should be immediately comfortable using it, which is no small accomplishment on the part of Ubuntu. Familiarity goes a long way towards accelerating adoption, though, admittedly, Ubuntu’s adoption rate for consumers lags behind that of Windows and macOS by significant margins. Go ahead and download GNU's Tweaks app to get all the possible customization options.
What do you dislike about the product?
Ubuntu could be not up to the mark when it comes to GUI. It is undergoing constant evolution in GUI and user-friendliness, at the current state it could be enough to intimidate new user to start with Ubuntu. It doesn't come installed on devices and troubleshooting is often is a hit or miss
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Python coding - so easy that you don't even need a programming software
ROS integration - Ubuntu works the best with ROS compared to any other OS
