It is totally Free and even if you have paid versions (with technical support) is even cheaper than buying Windows. The important distros have many very useful programs and you can find it very easily on the Internet. A very important point is security, Hackers and/or virus creators rarely attack Linux Software. As you can see on many websites, there is an infinite amount of technical information that will help you. It gets along well with Windows. Loads and performs tasks more efficiently than Windows. The constant updating and new versions is amazing.

It is not very common to use in Companies, so it is generally used to work from home, so you must make laborious adjustments. When working with complex Windows documents, it could become a difficult task due to a certain degree of compatibility to import from Windows to Linux. Installing hardware and software drivers is more complicated than in Windows. This is because the companies that create drivers create their products based on Windows, the most used operating system worldwide. Many games do not run on Linux so forget about big graphics and put your video card to work to the maximum. Of course there are exceptions.

It would be a mistake to say that Ubuntu is 100% immune to viruses. However, compared to Windows, which needs the use of antivirus, the malware risks associated with Ubuntu Linux are negligible. It also saves you the cost of antivirus because you don't need any. Its built-in firewall and virus protection method ensures that you are protected.
