What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is the simplest Operating System for all developers. Once you understand how it works then it is very handy to work with. Also, Ubuntu is one of the most secured OS. Ubuntu is the best OS for programming because it is open-source.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes Hardware specifications are not compatible with ubuntu OS. There are some difficulties while video editing which requires some codes to run the video. For PC gamers ubuntu os has very poor graphic support so for gamers, Ubuntu OS is not supportable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Compared with other operating systems ubuntu has very easy to install and their updates. As a developer, for my all projects which developed in Ubuntu had run without many errors. When stuck with some problem I get answers quickly because of its solid community. The most advanced benefit of ubuntu is I can update this OS without affecting my other usage of applications. It is very cost-effective. If I found anything wrong in the new update I can resolve it with its active community.

Better os for developers

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
If you are developer and you are not fond of gaming then blindly go for any linux distro(Ubuntu for beginners)
The main point of using any linux distro is the privacy and customisation. You can use whatever desktop environment you want may be it's gnome or kde plasma. Everything you can do with linux OS. After using Ubuntu as my primary os I totally forget about windows.
What do you dislike about the product?
Almost nothing. But if you are beginner then you may face issue as for now linux is far better but sometimes you need to face problem.A simple example would be it can be crash but you can't complain as it's open source and free but one pluspoint is what there is a very large community.
Linux means you need to have skill so simple.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Let me tell you a interesting point what if I tell you that you can make your pc look like Mac os. If you are using gnome there are lots of extensions out there which you can use and make your work productive.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go ahead if you want to try some new things.

Ubuntu - Working Experience

  • April 21, 2022

What do you like best about the product?
The terminal of Ubuntu over the cmd in windows. The terminal is the best thing I have used in Ubuntu. This is developer-friendly and allows a lot of customizations.

UI and gesture could be better as MacOS beats Ubuntu here. Some more gestures should be added which help developers with faster development and workspace switching.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Development, testing and automation of various process in software development. Monitoring and job scheduling are also part of the problems which we are solving on this OS.
