Secure and User-Friendly OS, But Compatibility Hurdles
What do you like best about the product?
I find Ubuntu more secure and easy to use than other operating systems. The strong firewall and regular security updates make a real difference. Its clean and friendly interface is the best I have ever seen. The setup is easy, and it handles both my professional and day-to-day tasks with ease.
What do you dislike about the product?
Many software and games are still only compatible with Windows and not with Ubuntu.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can do all my professional work with ease on Ubuntu. It's more secure and easy to use than other systems. Ubuntu's strong firewall, regular security updates, clean and friendly interface support my daily tasks efficiently.

What do you like best about the product?
I find Ubuntu great for coding because it doesn't require external compilers and debuggers. It's fast and secure, which I like a lot. The command line interface in Ubuntu is another feature I appreciate. I also love that Ubuntu comes with pre-installed packages, so there's no need for additional tools, making the setup quick.

Sometimes it's complex like while installing new packages.

What do you like best about the product?
I use Ubuntu for programming and running Hadoop. It's great because Apache Hadoop is compatible with Ubuntu, making installation really easy. For programming, I like that there's no need to install extra IDEs. The user interface of Ubuntu is something I really enjoy. Additionally, I appreciate that many other software like office tools, a PDF reader, and a media player are free and come installed with the OS, so I don't have to install them separately. The initial setup of Ubuntu was very easy, and switching from Windows to Ubuntu helped save money since Ubuntu is free.
What do you dislike about the product?
We need more themes, different fonts types like regional fonts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find Ubuntu compatible with Apache Hadoop, making installation easy. I don't need extra IDEs for programming, and essential software like office, PDF reader, and media player come pre-installed, saving time and money.

I like that Ubuntu is super clean and straightforward, with no complications and no heavy UI, just simple and smooth. Everything feels organized and updates don’t break stuff, and the terminal is powerful. It gives me a 'plug in and work' vibe, which I really like. I also like how lightweight it feels even on older systems. Apps install super quick, and most tools just work without extra setup. The customization is nice too—I can tweak things the way I want. Overall, it feels stable and reliable, and doesn’t disturb me when I’m working. It blends well with dev tools like VSCode, Git, Docker, and Android Studio, and I also use it for running local servers and small scripts. The initial setup was pretty easy with a straightforward installer, and most things worked out of the box, so it felt smooth and beginner-friendly. It's fast, clean, and great for dev work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, the only thing that bugs me sometimes is the software support. Some apps don’t have a native Linux version, so I need to find alternatives or use workarounds. Also a few drivers, especially for Wi-Fi or graphics, can act weird after updates. Yeah, sometimes after an update the Wi-Fi might randomly drop or the graphics feel a bit off, like screen tearing or low brightness control. It doesn’t happen always but when it does, it’s annoying.

I use Ubuntu for coding and projects because it's clean and fast. It solves slow, laggy issues, preventing crashes and keeping things smooth. It handles dev work efficiently, supports tools like VSCode, Docker, and provides a stable, straightforward environment without any complexity.
Reliable and free - perfect for development

The package manager (apt) makes installing software straightforward, and the community support is solid. It runs well on older hardware, and the LTS releases give me stability without constant updates. I also like that it's free and doesn't push ads or telemetry like some other OSes.

Some hardware drivers can be tricky, especially for newer laptops with proprietary components. The initial setup for things like NVIDIA graphics or certain Wi‑Fi cards sometimes requires extra steps. Also, while the UI has improved, it can feel a bit clunky compared to macOS or Windows for some tasks, and there's still a learning curve if you're coming from those systems.

It gives me a stable, cost-effective OS for development work. I can run Docker containers and manage multiple projects without the overhead of Windows or the cost of macOS. On my home server, it handles file sharing and backups reliably without licensing fees. It's also great for learning Linux and system administration skills that are useful in my career.

What I appreciate most is the GUI, which is both attractive and intuitive. The apt installation process is straightforward, making it easy to use and manage. The user-friendly graphical interface provides clear navigation options, which really helps ease the transition into the Linux ecosystem.

an option to open apps in admin mode or sudo mode is not present via gui
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool is excellent for developers because it encourages learning how to integrate with the system as a whole, rather than simply relying on an app. It is also very effective for debugging directly from the CLI and navigating around the IDE during development.
Ubuntu: Neat Clean OS with a lot of Power under the hood.
What do you like best about the product?
User friendly interface - very intuitive. easy for me to script. simple shell but powerful. not resource intensive and great compatibility with multiple vendors and devs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some GPU driver workloads are problematic. Setting up Hyper-V barebones was a little issue getting Nic and drivers running at first. Otherwise not too bad OS. No native m365 package for Linux but that is common with all flavors and more a Microsoft restriction.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm running a few N8N instances in the containers and using the webserver and web hook integration to facilitate reverse proxy and SSL signing.
Effortless to Use, Highly Recommended
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Ubuntu has a light interface that doesn't overwhelm me with a lot of UIs and stuff. It's also virus-free, which is a big plus for me. I appreciate its simplicity, lightness, and user-friendliness. The simple UI really stands out and gives me this premium feel. Additionally, the features I've used, especially those related to support and documents, have been highly efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, I believe that some of the Ubuntu integration with some Windows apps could be improved. Specifically, integration of apps like Microsoft Word and quite a few others could enhance Ubuntu.

Ubuntu gives me a light interface, preventing UI overwhelm, and provides a virus-free environment.

I like that Ubuntu is open source and customizable, which means I can edit the system and add services easily. It's helpful that I can connect extra services to the system without needing to download or install an additional package, plus, I can access and understand any part of it when searching. For example, it's easy for me to change the right-click menu using AI assistance and add services to it. I also appreciate that Ubuntu is getting more support and compatibility with different software and vendors around the world. Setting it up was very easy.

I struggle to get support for all the programs and sometimes I find only a Windows version of the package I am looking for but there is always an alternative.

I find Ubuntu open source and customizable, which lets me edit the system and add services easily. It gets more support and compatibility with different software and vendors.
