Managed Database Service With Quick Setup For Processing Large Volumes Of Data Easily

  • April 18, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1. Good database service with quick setup and a good range of cloud providers and compute resource sizes to choose from.
2. Data import is easy from cloud storage layers like S3 using pipelines
3. Data load and query performance is quick.
4. The UI is clean and intuitive.
5. Data migration is made simple. For example, it is possible to offload data from RDS MySQL to S3 and then create new pipelines in SingleStore to automatically ingest the data.
Data ingestion is done in seconds. In addition, it is possibility to easily load data from on-premise instances too using mysqldump. It even takes care of the table ddl generation. Since SS is compatible with MySQL data types, the table replication is very simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI only allows one SQL Editor tab at a time. It would be a great feature to be able to edit multiple sql scripts in the same time but in separate tabs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Processing and analyzing large volumes of clickstream data

Cheat code for speeding up your database queries

  • April 18, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Two things:

1. The simplicity and speed of setting up a SingleStore environment.
2. The SQL performance increase you get straight off the bat.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a little bit on the pricey side for large instances.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Typically we look at SingleStore when query performance on large datasets is bad on MySQL/Aurora. Moving to SingleStore is almost like a cheat code on some occasions!

Lightening fast Database with elegant UI

  • April 17, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The mere speed of data load is what appealed the most i.e 2800000000 rows were loaded in less than a minute with what test case i had
What do you dislike about the product?
As of now i did not find any downsides because the system has been well thought during design
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem is to loaded inter system data witn different formats. The most used place would be different ETL stages for Datawarehousing
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just explore it yourself to see the great product

Looks like a great product!

  • April 14, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The different connection offerings for loading data from multiple data sources including the easy to use built in connector.
The speed out of the box without even adding sharding keys.
The UI is clean and easy to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far.

Would be interested to test more how the connector handles custom types during its automatic table creation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Very easy to ingest data from multiple sources quickly.
Increased performance on queries.
Very flexible in terms of different cloud platform options.

Very user-friendly, high-performance data analytics solution

  • April 12, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The onboarding experience and how easy it is to get started. As someone who works with many clients, I particularly liked the ability (and ease) to quickly spin up a temporary database and ingest a large amount of data to run queries against. This is extremely useful for short-term (several days to 2 weeks) analytics projects. The logistics of setting up a new database are night & day in comparison to using RDS.
What do you dislike about the product?
"Dislike" is a strong term. After my initial experience with the product, there wasn't anything I particularly disliked, but here are some notes on how I think the user experience could be made better:

- It would be good to get the real time status of a pipeline; when I was running the test data import, the row count of the table kept changing every few seconds as more data was loaded. There was no real way to know when the entire set finished importing.

On this note, it would be great to have a general view of all the queries that are currently running in the database, and their progress. This would come in particularly useful when building applications that run analytics workloads and debugging those applications.

- (UX improvement) support for multiple SQL editor tabs in the web front end would be great, especially considering that the web interface appears to be designed to be the primary method for humans to interact with the database.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There is a multitude of scenarios where this tooling would be very helpful. Particularly -- read-only queries against massive datasets (for example: if this tool existed five years ago, it would have saved us months of custom PostgreSQL optimization that we had to do and would have likely worked out-of-the-box for what we needed).

Good Cloud Database

  • April 12, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Pipeline creation and its execution. Unified UI for cluster/DB/Queries etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
No dislike but wanted to explore and see query plans in a better format. Wanted to check monitoring.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data pipelines (Not sure how & where transformations would be handled).
Scalability, easy of use & responsiveness.

System developer

  • April 11, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Effortless to migrate local DB to the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
The current database in SQL Editor will be reset if the page has been reloaded.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reduce the on-premises server required. The platform can reduce both hardware cost and maintenance cost.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It would be perfect if I can get a timely reply on my issue raised to portalhelp@singlestore.com.

Outstanding Data Platform

  • April 08, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Extremely easy to set up and there are no issues with local dev. environments since it is in the cloud.
- It is highly responsive with connecting to data and queries.
- When I ran into a problem the live chat was very quick to assist me in moving forward.
What do you dislike about the product?
There were a few UX issues I had around the queries and the output of results into numerous tabs, but it seems like those are being addressed by their development team so I hope to see those changes reflected in future releases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For our organization, we are really just assessing what makes the most sense for our distributed software solutions and the storage behind them. SingleStore so far seems like a viable solution in the storage area.

What do you like best about the product?
The speed and performance. We have loaded the huge datasets, the performance is tremendous.
What do you dislike about the product?
None. Nothing to complain. Everything is good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data integration. Getting the records fast from various complex queries.

Streamlined cloud storage integration and user friendly query based software

  • March 28, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1. Pipeline that directly fetched data from cloud store
2. Syntax for the pipeline was very concise and straightforward
3. Each output tab remains open with query output so that can be revisited easily as required
4. Very user friendly interface
5. Sign up and cluster creation process was smooth and streamlined
6. Tutorial for the process was adequately descriptive with the right amount of engagement in terms of the tone and language of the content provided
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Cancel button to terminate query during execution was hard to find
2. Output tabs like 'database created successfully' and 'table created successfully' will not need to be viewed again, hence these tabs need not be kept open once viewed. Right now we can manually close but if for selective outputs we can have one time view output tabs, that will be great
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. To handshake with cloud store programmatically is tedious and requires a lot of code. Once configured successfully, SingleStore was able to retrieve data with ease
2. Cluster was provisioned with incisive parameters to be entered by me without adding any extra layer of complexity, which enhanced my user experience
3. SingleStore seems to be a one stop tool that offers compatibility with an extended range of cloud stores, thus diversifying scope of one's project without the need for store endpoint specific programming
4. The user interface is very friendly, which makes it easier to educate people with semi technical roles(client reporting team, etc) on using SingleStore to better understand and report the use case of a project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
SingleStore revolutionizes how we imagine relational databases. Their multi-cloud support is unparalleled and user interface is friendly and incisive.
