Accurate, User-Friendly Tax Calculations—Tax Rule Setup Could Be Easier
What do you like best about the product?
Vertex is very customer friendly. The tax rates calculated are accurate and specific for each location, Easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I find difficult is the process to put in a tax rule. It would help if the process was easier to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vertex is calculating tax rate, storing certificate and doing the returns,
Looking forward to a full implementation of Version O

Keeps up to date with the regulatory issues and changes without us needing to employ personnel to do so.
What do you dislike about the product?
Misperception for how long a conversion from Q to O would actually take.

Certificate automation, compliance with origination States, regulatory
Responsive Support, But Customization Can Be Challenging

They are always willing to listen to our problems and try to meet us in the middle for a solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are so specialized that the nuance of our model can be tricky to fit into the Vertex mold at times.

Taxability - benefiting us in staying up to date on rules and regulations to ensure more accurate taxing

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to support a variety of tax categories. I also like being able to stay on top of tax rules and ensure that we can tax correctly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Support sometimes takes longer that I would prefer to solve an issue. We have used consulting to them solve an issue that was deemed a core Vertex tax link issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vertex has help solve taxability issues with bundled transactions and tax rates for a combination of different items that are offered.
Great Features, But Navigation Can Be Confusing at First
What do you like best about the product?
Very helpful in keeping up with rules and making sure we are taking correctly. The transaction tester is very helpful after setting up flex fields
What do you dislike about the product?
Lots of different locations. In the beginning it is very difficult to figure out where everything goes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For my purposes, I help to set up taxing rules. Also, reports can be beneficial when looking into variances that we do not believe should be there to see if there is a taxing issue.
Flexible Support, But Needs Multi-Line Rule Capability
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility and willingness to help with questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of the ability for rules to look at multiple line items.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems of tax law changes. We are on Vertex Q and O. Being able to move to O will drastically help us in multiple areas.

Information about converting from L Series to O Series.

Some features are a little slow and returns we have to manually enter the information.

very efficient when filing sales and use taxes. It frees up time to work on other projects

unable to use the vertex returns feature it has issues with putting the correct amount of taxable purchases we manually have to get the information and enter it in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vertex is automatically pulling sales tax from invoices for us where before I had to review each invoice to decide if it was taxable or not.
Excellent Customer Service and Comprehensive Documentation
What do you like best about the product?
Vertex customer support and documentation provided Community are super helpful

Miss some flexibility when dealing with granularity taxation from brazil
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vertex provide all of our tax content for Brazil and does that pretty well, dealing with a lot of access we have since our website demands a lot of requests.
