The ease of the website to find where I need to go to calculate my taxes.

The interface with our accounting software has proven difficult at times.

What do you like best about the product?
Precise and accurate without the heavy expense of its competitors.
What do you dislike about the product?
The software still does not remove the need for a tax expert to ensure it is setup and used correctly. Constant monitoring of the Sales Tax landscape is still required.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The largest problem solved is accurate and current rate tables for invoicing purposes.

What do you like best about the product?
Vertex SMB solution is a light weight solution which is easily to implement. The API interfaces also were simpler and easy to map and go live into production. The Vertex SMB user interface is also easy to configure and number of steps are minimal to complete configuration which helps to roll changes faster.
The solution is designed such that business users can put in minimal needed information and go live with the product.

What do you dislike about the product?
Vertex SMB does not have the ability to provide different versions for testing and for production.It would be great to have a testing instance available as a complementary version to support the production version which is licensed. The navigation experience between the different screens also can be improved so that it is a seamless experience. Reporting interface also can be made better so that the combined business user experience is better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to expand fulfillment locations due to the flexibility to calculate tax based on the ship from location provided by the vertex implementation
Ability to automate sales and shipping tax calculation based on the states where business is registered and based on the ship to location
Ability to store customer tax exemption data in a centralized repository for audit purpose.

Easy to administer, use and deploy for small and medium businesses
Ease of use and installation. Accuracy between systems is great
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of integration of the Magento tax module. The set up is simple, and the module is robust and accurate. Support is always responsive and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing comes to mind. Have had a very good experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Have used Vertex now at two companies. At the first, it helped improve accuracy between the front end ecommerce store (Magento) and the backend ERP. Before we had major issues with calculations being higher in the ERP, and thus the card payment captures were failing.

We use the service for after the fact reporting of use tax and really like the upload and quick turn around of sales tax reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
None that I can think of. The functionality and accuracy are excellent.

It is automated and computes tax quickly

Fee is bundled and high and bundled - it would be better if it is charged by specific service like returns, caclulation etc

Sales tax computation- states change taxes frequently and sometimes we may lose money due to undercharging. Due to Vertex we are able to capture it on time and minimize any overruns.

The solution is easy to use. Vertex makes this a turn-key experience.

It can be a challenge to accumulate all necessary data in the Vertex Cloud by the deadline for sales tax filings.

Upgrade from Q to O series
What do you like best about the product?
Introduction of Accelerator and SAP PLUS tools which will reduce the implementation complexity and efforts.
What do you dislike about the product?
The consulting charges is on a high side. There are several instances we received some unreasonable charges for activity performed.
