vertex always not syncing well. few times already that vertex reports don't tie to our GL reports.

What do you like best about the product?
1. Verifying the TAX calculation for any state on -the-fly

What do you dislike about the product?
At times we get the issue that a particular address is valid as per USPS but the customers aren't able to add the address on website.
As s solution it has been observed that those addresses were then added to Vertex database, to make it correct.
When we check the issue through Vertex O series portal then it always recognizes the address, but that is not the case always.
It will be better if there is any functionality provided to add the address through this portal so that we don't have to reach out to Vertex Support, to do that.
As per my experience, talking to Vertex Support isn't that smooth and it has been a very bad experience so far. Some representatives are egoistic and don't try to understand what the actual issue is, and it is just a waste of time.

True On Demand model no need to host anything internal.
What do you dislike about the product?
If any issues difficult to track instantly. Turn around time is little more.

If hosting the infrastructure is too difficult for small companies then they can use this solution as simple Web service calls to integrate the tax system.
Overall customer service is good.
What do you like best about the product?
The monthly update frees you up in researching accurate tax rates by jurisdictions. State-by-state changes assist the taxpayer in planning, and effectively comply with states' regulations and requirements.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some service requests escalated took longer to resolve. I understand it depends on the severity of the issue but the user always has to follow-up and we don't typically get an update from Vertex.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The reporting functionality, Data Extract is very useful and not limited to Sales Tax Compliance. This tool allows us to report Gross Receipts, Business License renewal by jurisdictions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommend if you do business US wide. Very reliable in our sales tax compliance.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the user interface on the website and the mapping process.

It is hard to find the reports that I need at first glance or the reports do not work in every location that the report can be pulled.

Automation of the Sales and Use Tax process and accrual in Oracle.

We like the ability to use web services to make our sale tax calculation calls and the online tax returns preparation.

I can't really think of much I dislike except it maybe need to handle use tax a little better.

We are using the VertexSMB to calculate sales and use taxes for our customers invoices in many states.

Give it a try. It's pretty easy to implement and maintain.

What do you dislike about the product?
Geo codes drop leading zeros on export. Cannot find a way to get around this. Also, it does not reverse tax that was initially invoiced upon a return if the tax rate has changed since purchase. this causes a lot of problems.

A more sophisticated tax calculation methodology. Easier to work with changing tax rates.
