Some functionality with the exemption certificate manager is very manual and clumsy (entering multi-state exemptions)

Great for Sales Tax Reporting, But Exporting Tax Matrix Is Complex
What do you like best about the product?
Report generated on sales tax paid to vendor. Provides insight to what we are paying sales tax for a possible reverse audit. Also provides what we are not taxing and should be.
What do you dislike about the product?
The complexity of how to find our tax matrix based on our mapping and export out of Vertex
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Provides a better tax determination. We implemented Vertex O in 2023 and it has delivered on performance handling our volume.

Exemption Certificate Wizard. I have had great experience with this wizard

Their Vertex O tax assist / is a bit confusing and not user friendly. need more help 'advice' on mapping.

The rates are reliable and saves me a TON of time

Early on, we did not have a good rep, but the one we have now is great

Maintaining correct sales tax rates and providing not only filing,but also audit documentation

Customer service, up to date with tax legislation, easy to configure
What do you dislike about the product?
Reliance on consultants to provide some of the support for services. Possibly Vertex has more in-house services but seems like in 2019 when implemented we had to use a lot of consulting services to get set up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently use classic Cloud and it helps a lot with our Workday integration to discover new suppliers that are potentially taxable. We have set up rules to streamline process and not pull new suppliers that are known not to be taxable.
Vertex Simplifies Tax Compliance, But Learning Curve Exists
What do you like best about the product?
The upside to Vertex is they really take on the constant tax research and changing of rates and laws for you.
What do you dislike about the product?
Trying to learn the software myself and customer support not being able to answer some of my questions sometimes. But that happens and I'm aware that sometimes it's lack of knowledge on my part.

Vertex solves the calculating of tax rates in our system. Self explanatory

integration between O series and VITR are seamless.

We are implementing Edge and would like for single sign on between Edge and O-Series

Accuracy of sales tax calculations. Soon will be using the ECM.
