Nascent technology with a yet to materialize product roadmap
What do you like best about the product?
Honestly, there isn't really much that I like about the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
The promised roadmap has yet to materialize. For example, the team has been promising machine learning or some type of algorithmic content recommendations for years, but don't seem to be anywhere near ready to release that.
Additionally, it's much more complicated to create experiences that it needs to be.
Last, the analytics don't make it very easy to determine whether or not the experiments actually drive the business results we care about.
In short, I'm unable to create the personalization experiences that I want (recommendation engine) or see the effectiveness of our efforts (analytics).

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are attempting to personalize to a mix of known and unknown users. Within the segments, I want both rules-based and algorithmic experiences so that I can set somethings and let the machine figure out the rest.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would look at other vendors with a more mature product.
Easy to use product with great support
What do you like best about the product?
The product has made our ability to deliver our website incredibly efficiently. And every need we have is taken care of by the Acquia team.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are early in our implementation, but so far, no issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need to understand who is coming to our websites and how they are engaging with us. We also have to be more effective at getting them into the MQL funnel, and Lift will be the tool we use to do all of this.
The LIFT for personalization

customizable
What do you dislike about the product?
Technical nature, not as user/marketing friendly
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
providing the relevant information to the relevant visitor at the relevant time in their journey
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The landscape and offerings are ever-evolving, do your research and make sure you find the right platform to meet your business needs
Good personalization tool
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use and non-technical users can easily launch experiences with it. It's compatible with Drupal, making it super convenient if you are operating a website on Drupal. The account team is super helpful, willing to jump on a call to help you out or provide you with how-tos, docs, etc. that fit your use case and needs. The account team is really invested in making you and your experiences successful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The analytics for Lift is not that great, the reports are hard to navigate and at times buggy. In order to be a superior product, compared to the competition, Lift really needs to improve their analytics, making it more visual and easier to navigate. In addition, they need to better ensure that the data coming through is accurate, as at times we were unsure if it was accurate or not. Additionally, we ran into multiple bugs in the process of launching some experiences.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Personalization for the website. We were able to personalize multiple webpages and deliver a unique experience to users, based on different criteria that we set, such as geo or data from our Marketing database.
Very easy to use with user profiles!
What do you like best about the product?
One of the aspects that make Acquia Lift stand out from the crowd of personalization platforms is that it stores user profiles. Having profiles allows us to create segments of users to target for personalizations based on historical engagement and behavior on the website. The profiles also allow us to enrich the data using APIs from other data sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the challenges we had have been overcome in the newest release which we are currently in progress of upgrading to. There are some configuration changes we need to make to accommodate the upgrade, but all configurable from the admin.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Acquia Lift provides us the ability to personalize elements on our website based on audience segments which we define. The audience segment criteria builder is very robust and easy to use with multi-level/grouped boolean operators.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely worth evaluating and strongly consider the impact of user profiles.
Lots of potential
What do you like best about the product?
The advanced reporting and data metrics available within the interface. This provided valuable insight to our team. Acquia's support team was very helpful and knowledgeable.
What do you dislike about the product?
The overall cost of the product, which is what became a determining factor for us on whether to continue with the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to track user experience throughout the site. The endless options for personal customization. Required a substantial amount of web developer time and efforts to setup and configure.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take in consideration the size of your web team and services. We underestimated the amount of staff that would be needed to fully utilize this product to get the most of what we paid over the course of the contract. We would have loved to have gotten more out of it but the timing we choose was too hectic as we purchased this product when we rebuilt our main marketing website with Drupal and the rebuilt took the majority of our resources and in the end there wasn't much availability of our team to dedicate to Acquia Lift in the way that we had originally hoped to. Long story short we took on too much too fast and I believe if we would have waited a few years into our website rebuilt the overall experience with Lift could have been a lot better. Plus Lift has changed and improved a lot since we originally purchased the product. At some point I would like to give Lift another try but until our staffing and budget increases I just don't see a way we could try it again.
Lift is tricky to get up and running
What do you like best about the product?
The idea of an AI-ish solution to suggest content to users based on their interest
What do you dislike about the product?
Content must be architected perfectly to be able to use the tool. Fields/view modes/etc can quickly break lift implementations. We've also seen conflicts with other libraries etc that have broken javascript at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Unsure - business users want personalization for more touch points/retention/sales etc.
Solid Marketing Automation Solution that can also work as a CRM
What do you like best about the product?
We use the open-source version and the sheer number of features available is impressive. It's also not "dumbed-down" much from the commercial version.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be complex to deploy and configure, even if you're using the commercial version. But the open-source version especially requires an experienced and capable IT/Web admin to setup and integrate properly with web and CRM.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our setup captures leads from the website and those leads are segmented and used primarily for automated email campaigns.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Full featured marketing automation solution that can also double as a CRM, but can be complex and takes some time to learn and master.
Great tool but expensive.
What do you like best about the product?
For most basic email marketing and automation activities, it's easy to use. All user information can be easily viewed.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is very difficult to use the email / landing page designer. She looks like she has her own mind. You better use another designer to place the resulting HTML in this tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mautic is used to deliver newsletters to attract potential customers and, in advanced situations, to create welcome-based policies. When our marketing team decided to deploy it, we didn't have too much money and that's why Mautic was a nice choice for us. Now, as we can meet all of our requirements, we continue to use it because it can cover every aspect of marketing automation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Before engaging in any tool, carefully analyze your marketing strategy. Don't get a tool, then look at what you can do about it. Decide what to do first and then, accordingly, shortlist tools. This tool is mostly designed to fulfill basic marketing needs, but is not intended to meet advanced requirements.
Great alternative to Hubspot
What do you like best about the product?
It's a great alternative to Hubspot without having to pay a license.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's an open source platform, so sometimes you can find bugs (although developers are trying to solve them all).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Now my clients can know who is in their website, and what do they do on it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You will need developers or a partner to implement it. But all the data will be yours forever (it's quite difficult to export data from other competitors).
