Serves purpose in providing security, but lacks in reliability, bandwidth usage, and user experience
What do you like best about the product?
It provides security. But there are alternatives that provide security and I think that if Appian doesn't improve, advances in security have made it redundant. I can't recommend it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall experience is awful. Even with a very decent amount of bandwidth for what we use and the number of us, it is constantly slowing down to the point of logging us out at unpredictable times. It isn't helped by it's awful load time either. We have tried several fixes but it all comes down to Appian itself being great for security but to the exclusion of everything else.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It keeps business processes secure and locked tightly which is vital to our industry. It however hampers productivity with seemingly redundant processes and loading times which consume an unreasonable amount of bandwidth.
Amazing BPM Appian tool
What do you like best about the product?
Appian is a good BPM tool for applications having a workflow management process. Community helps to resolve the queries where we have plenty of users who give inputs. Also, Appian has a learning academy that provides enough self-learning information with proper hands, which is a good start for any new beginner.
Testing the UI is also very comfortable without creating a new code version.

What do you dislike about the product?
Designing the UI is not meeting the customer's expectations, which takes time to create the customer theme.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Appian helped in designing the reports efficiently in the required view with different filters and also have good feature in creating the information in pictorial charts

What do you like best about the product?
Appian is a great low-code tool that can be used with different APIs for automating different user-created solutions to appian-coded solutions. It is one of the best low-code solutions in the market available right now.
What do you dislike about the product?
Appian is almost full of possibilities and innovation but UI can be a part that needs improvement. Since it does not have any animation or transitions it may be not very well for other people.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Appian is helping me automate an excel based manual intervention and automating that to Appian which in long run reduces cost and a lot of manual errors in the execution.

What do you like best about the product?
The best part is it's stability and easy to use predefined components which allow developers to easy create and quickly deliver products. It's process model capabilities is super power, which can handle complex business logics.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not a big drawback, just a further scope of improvement that in UI it comes with predefined set of components. Better if it could be improved to use custom components.

Appian helps to develop applications with lowcode tools which deliver software faster. It's having standard components which help to keep consistency in design for entire software.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the ease and efficiency of the platform. Making business applications gets quicker and quicker each year. Their records functionality is incredible as it is easy to understand and quick to set up - avoiding the mySql stored procedures and views that can get complex quickly. Their services regarding the cloud platform is exceptional - we are truly looked after in this regard.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much that I dislike, but there are just small things in the BPM tool that I feel should be addressed. For instance, the record filters are not easy to make efficient especially if you have a lot of them. However, I am sure these things will be addressed in the future, but I guess their time is taken into their new tools like RPA and Process Mining.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main business problems that Appian is solving are niche use cases and processes not covered by our already existing toolset. For us specifically, it is the problems where we need to be quick to market and super adaptable to market change.

Source code cannot be managed on Git, limit of 32 shards in the process engine

My experience with Appian
What do you like best about the product?
My experience with Appian has been excellent; it provides us to build apps quicker in a consistent manner(UX). The best part is it offers me connectors for integration with other applications without the need for code. Based on the market needs, the way Appian keeps adding new functionalities like Data Fabric/Data Mining makes a lot of sense to me. Having integrated CI/CD (DevOps) also help us quickly manage the code deployment process.
What do you dislike about the product?
Excellent new features are added to Appian with additional license cost; this can be re-looked at. Provide a better model to customers to get to mining capabilities. Monitoring services on the SaaS Platform can be improved, helping us integrate with customer ITSM toolsets. I have asked this for JLR, which is under process by Appian.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can build, test and deploy applications for JLR quickly. The Brexit application we created using Appian has had positive feedback from JLR and end users. Brexit happened, and many manual tasks were being carried out by JLR, which were eliminated, resulting in substantial cost savings for JLR.

Standardized development. Easy deployments. Spinning up environments quicker
What do you dislike about the product?
Expensive architecture services from appian. Hard to find appian developers. UI limitations and partial page processing. Plugin development needs more dependency on Java developers.
