Robust Secure File Transfer Tool
What do you like best about the product?
GoAnywhere MFT offers a very robust approach to managed file transfer. There are a plethora of administrative tools that allow for administrative transparency and complement a strong security posture. Their customer support is top-notch, very friendly and knowledgable staff. GoAnywhere MFT is very easy for users to access and share files.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a lot of features that can be leveraged, which may seem a bit daunting at times. However, customer service and the user guides complement this information overload and help make the implementation of new features seamless.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing transparency to what documents are being shared with which trading parteners, when, how often.
Also, allows us to consolidate services by leveraging Secure Mail, Secure Folders, and secure File Transfers all in one application!

Great Product - should have implemented it sooner
What do you like best about the product?
Go Anywhere has allowed use to managed and monitor all file transfers in a single place. It has allows us to support multiple protocols and multiple file types. All the tools and features for archiving, file conversions, data connnections, etc. are great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much - but we would like more fine grained (levels of control) for administrators and developers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Consolidates are file transfers in one place. Gives us great tools to work with our partners and solve a myriad of problems.

What do you like best about the product?
Simplistic of use, short learning curve, and does what it said it would do.

Support is lacking unless you pay for the programming hours.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GoAnywhere MFT is reliable when it comes to scheduling jobs with minimal monitoring. We have used other MFT in the past and we had to constantly monitor for failed jobs.

When licence expires, product stops working, but once you call they give you temporary almost immediatly.

SFTP connection and PGP encryption/decription are done very easy.

Fortra's GoAnywhere MFT supports the PeSIT protocol. The solution's Windows LDAP integration is excellent.
What needs improvement?
The solution's support for the Unix platform and AS2 should be improved. The solution's scalability needs to be improved as it has very limited scalability.
The solution could include some multi-factor authentication (MFA), one-time password, or secondary authentication.

Before choosing Fortra's GoAnywhere MFT, we evaluated MOVEit. Compared to MOVEit, Fortra's GoAnywhere MFT had a more robust user interface, and the support was more apparent on their website, making it easier to get to.
What other advice do I have?
The solution has quarterly maintenance releases.
Fortra's GoAnywhere MFT is best used in a Windows environment with low utilization. It wouldn't be something I would use in a high-utilization environment.

A stable product that has a simple user interface and can be automated for file transformation
What is our primary use case?
It is a file transfer solution. We have different scenarios for different sectors, like banking and financial sectors. Customers want to move from traditional SMTP servers to enterprise solutions with logs and monitoring features.
What is most valuable?
The user interface is simple. We can automate the solution. We can deploy the product in different kinds of infrastructure. We can do a lot with the product in automation. We can automate it for file transformation.
What needs improvement?
The security features must be updated regularly. The newer versions must be released sooner. The solution must add new features at least every year. The solution must provide integration with SSO.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using the solution for around three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The tool is quite stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The tool is scalable. Around 30 people are using the product in my organization.

The technical support team provides delayed solutions.

The initial setup is easy. The tool is very easy to deploy and use. We deploy the solution for many clients and have used many cloud providers. The time taken for deployment depends on the type of deployment.

The product is not cheap, but it is not expensive. The price depends on the modules. The solution is worth the money.
What other advice do I have?
My recommendation depends on the customers’ requirements and how they transfer files in their organization. Some organizations do data transfer only over email. Compared to its competitors, the tool provides good features. Overall, I rate the product an eight out of ten.

What do you like best about the product?
Very simple and straight-forward to use. There's a lot of flexibility in how you can design your file transfers. It's very simple to learn and maintenance is low-effort. Also, their support staff for upgrades and new installations is outstanding.
What do you dislike about the product?
The upgrade process can be a little cumbersome which can make self-service for upgrades and new installs a little tougher, thus possibly requiring the use of vendor staff which can be a cost burden for the customer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows the end-user to have a centralized location that has all their MFT projects and schedules as well as user and system management. Having all of this in one place obviously makes the logistics of MFT much easier to manage and maintain.

What I like best about using GoAnywhere is the security and versatility with managing file transfers. The projects that can be created are almost endless.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest frustrations are minor. It logs me out, which the time can be changed, and has trouble on a back button, which requires a done or cancel.

One of the things that I have noticed about this program and that has made it difficult and I work with it, is the enormous size of its software, which makes it take up a lot of space on my system, there are several complications for this reason, one of them is that Due to the low space and demand, the program can be slower to run, as well as annoying the implementation of other programs on my system.

After working and creating the multiple documents and files, what we most want is to have a safe and reliable program that ensures the transfers of each one and without exemption of data from my work, GoAnywhere MFT has been the program par excellence that has been fulfilled by complete with simplifying each of the processes where we want to exchange these reports and other types of work with our contacts as quickly as possible, such as my most frequent clients or simply with my coworkers, this program guarantees that the transfer of files is successful and repeats the original format.
