Been pleased with GoAnywhere!
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, lots of functionality, good customer service.
What do you dislike about the product?
While GoAnywhere includes reading from and writing to Excel, it seems to be very memory intensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We utilize GoAnywhere for our MFT tasks as well as many of our automation tasks, including orchestrating ETL and reporting processes

Not different encryption methods build into the tool.

Excellent tool for automatization file exchange with customers

How the Monitors work, and the Projects/programming, although they don't call it programming...
What do you dislike about the product?
Some unexpected defects of various significance. One of them being the user quota feature causing major performance degradations. Lack of explicit system/platform requirements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Combining file servers for two external protocols with automation. We push/pull files externally as well as move files internally.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Before buying, have HelpSystems review your intended target platform for infrastructural choices and commit to supporting, especially if you're deploying on a cloud platform.

- The challenges that come with the failure scenarios. GoAnywhere is dependent on the infrastructure and connections to be stable. When failures occur, it is sometimes challenging to understand why.

Great MFT Product
What do you like best about the product?
Great product over all with great features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not having the option for users to easily change their passwords.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to receive and send files from one product.
A great solution that has helped us automate all FTP related tasks end to end
What do you like best about the product?
The solution - right off the bat - provides features to design workflows. Using these workflows, we have been able to automate FTP-related tasks for inbound and outbound files. The interface is very intuitive, making it easier for a non-technical person to design and use the system. Additionally, I also love the reporting/dashboard feature available in the tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far I do not have anything that I do not dislike or wished was present in the tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have solved the problem of manual FTP related tasks done at the organization. Using GoAnywhere MFT solution, we have fully automated that piece. This has really allowed our resources to focus on other areas which would help us enhance data/service quality.

What do you like best about the product?
Multiprotocol, with "DMZ" feature, FIPS.
What do you dislike about the product?
Ticketing via support portal UI is weak.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are replacing several legacy services with a single newer application.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Few file transfer products are as robust and easy to use as GoAnywhere.
Good product for the money

It is scalable for smaller businesses like us

The pricing seems a bit complicated and can get expensive depending on what you need

We had several SFTP tools that our users were trying to manage and now we are slowly converting them into GoAnywhere simplifying our operations
Great alternative to large ETL systems
What do you like best about the product?
It is so easy to write jobs to pull or upload data. You can write ETL jobs in under 30 minutes most of the time. The source code is XML and can be quickly edited. It also has tremendous speed when accessing data in SQL server and DB2. I can access data from SQL Server faster than SSIS can on the same server.
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn't have a drag and drop interface. Compared to Datastage and SSIS it can be a bit difficult to get a good overview of what the job is doing. The other problem has been the quality of technical support. It is very easy to stump the technicians with relatively simple questions. That never happened before Linoma was purchased by Help Systems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it for ETL and for validity checking of data. It has helped us implement changes rapidly at low cost. We also get orders from our customers and send ASN's using GoAnywhere. Another neat thing to do is to extract data into Excel and email it to users instead of building a complicated BI report.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This product isn't necessarily as robust as Datastage or SSIS but it has some real good points. Don't dismiss it out of hand. It has a large number of reporting tools that let you know how a job has executed and you can see trends when a job has run longer than normal. It also has a lot of tools to make it usable in Sarbox companies.

It is a great product to use. It makes it easy to monitor whatever purposeful job you would like automated and provides great support for any issue at hand.
