It's reliable file transfers for daily business operations
What do you like best about the product?
The most notable fact is that GoAnywhere MFT is helping to facilitate our business procedures when nobody notices. I also have a liking of the manner in which it interoperates with our ERP and partners to ensure that files continue moving without human intervention. Implementation is something that fits our environment and the usability is facilitating the involvement of novice members of the team. The features are also enough, and I do not have to use additional tools, making my work easier each day.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is something I dislike about GoAnywhere MFT and it is outdated and more of a slow navigation. There are features that are strong and are not readily available, something that affects my productivity on hectic days. More complex workflows require more time than anticipated to implement, increasing additional time to testing. Customer support is useful when problems arise, and in the meantime, I may be interrupted in my regular use frequency.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GoAnywhere MFT is a solution to poor and manual file transfers. It stores data with ease in one system to the other without being monitored. Connection to our ERP and partner platforms is saving me hours per week. The implementation minimized the errors affecting the entire team and the fact that it is easy to use minimizes errors. It has enhanced teamwork and allows us to concentrate on the real work rather than on the lost files.

I has a wide range of protocol supports which make it an ideal choice when you are suppose to connect with multiple external systems. We have an option to automate the repetitive file upload case.

It takes more time than expected in processing files.

I likes it's supported protocol which gives an edge, It supports SFTP, FTPS, AS2, PeSIT, SCP, AS3/AS4 and some others. It gives an edge to connect with any other tools.

Since it is a complex tool so it is a steep learning curve for any new users.

The automation is the best part of GoAnywhere MFT. Once the workflows are set up, the transfer runs consistently and without any manual effort.
The file transfer and scheduler agents for GoAnywhere MFT run the workflows in the background and handle all the recurring jobs. I can rely on them.
I appreciate the range of connectors provided with GoAnywhere MFT.
What needs improvement?
The UI/UX of GoAnywhere MFT feels somewhat cluttered. Some of the options I need are in a very cluttered space, and I need to search for them frequently. If the interface could be more simplified, I would prefer it much more.

I have been using GoAnywhere MFT for six to eight months for file transfers only.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I have never experienced any downtime with GoAnywhere MFT, though I may have seen a few glitches once or twice. After I restarted the software, it was fixed. Nothing was particularly significant, and it was manageable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Even large corporations can use GoAnywhere MFT. In my corporation, there are eleven to thirty people right now, but for large corporations as well, this solution works nicely and can be scaled.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
This is the first time I am using GoAnywhere MFT.
How was the initial setup?
The initial deployment of GoAnywhere MFT was really smooth. The bigger time investment was in configuring the connections and testing the workflows that we created. Everything else was really smooth.
What about the implementation team?
We required two or three people for this type of deployment of GoAnywhere MFT, and it did not take a lot of time.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing of GoAnywhere MFT is fair. I don't have any complaints about it. It feels really reasonable, and for the automation features that they provide, it is nice. It may feel high for basic needs, but the stability makes it all worth it.
What other advice do I have?
I cannot recall using this exact feature of GoAnywhere MFT, but my colleagues might have used them, and I have never received any complaints about any feature of this kind.
There is very minimal maintenance for GoAnywhere MFT from our side, mostly checking the logs, updating the credentials, and adjusting the workflows whenever anything changes. Nothing extraordinary is required for maintenance.
I have not done this with GoAnywhere MFT, but my colleagues have done it quite a few times, two or three times, and I have never heard any complaints about it from them.
I would rate this product an 8 out of 10.

As a Service Delivery Manager, my main use case for GoAnywhere MFT is to securely automate file transfer between internal systems and external partners, ensuring that the compliance of both the internal organization and the customer organization is met. I also use this for encrypted transfer of files and for end-to-end visibility of all data movements.
One key workflow I automated with GoAnywhere MFT is the daily SFTP transfer of large financial reports from my internal data warehouse to a client's secure endpoint. The workflow includes PGP encryption, automatic retry logic, email alerts on failure, and audit logging, which has reduced my manual intervention and improved both security and the reliability of my team.
Apart from this, I also use GoAnywhere MFT to automate scheduled data feeds between my internal application and third-party vendors using secure protocols as well as APIs, which include validation steps, error handling, and audit tracking.
What is most valuable?
GoAnywhere MFT offers strong security and encryption support to various secure protocols like SFTP, FTP, FTPS, and HTTPS, along with automated workflow and scheduling features. I can build automated processes with triggers and folder monitoring to ensure that the files are transferred and processing happens without manual interruption. The audit and compliance support provide a single interface to manage all transfers with detailed audit reporting and report generation, which helps me comply with security compliance standards such as PCI, HIPAA, and GDPR.
The biggest difference GoAnywhere MFT made to my company is that it provided strong encryption, secure protocols, and centralized access control, significantly improving how I protect my sensitive data during transfer and reducing the risk of compliance issues and data breaches.
A handy feature I appreciate is the inbuilt alerting and notification system, which immediately notifies me if there is a failure or delay in the task, helping my team respond faster and maintain the SLAs.
Overall, GoAnywhere MFT has positively impacted my organization by reducing manual effort through automation, strengthening data security with encrypted and secure transfer protocols, and simplifying compliance with centralized audit logs for adherence to my compliance requirements. I have reduced manual transfer work by approximately 30 to 35 percent through the automation GoAnywhere MFT provides, and I have also noticed a significant drop in my transfer errors now that validation is done by GoAnywhere MFT, along with centralized audit logs and reporting.
What needs improvement?
While there is not a lot for improvement, the UI interface could use a modern touch to avoid its outdated appearance for faster navigation in the console.
Regarding the integration aspect, it would be beneficial for GoAnywhere MFT to provide out-of-the-box connectors for modern SAP platforms, and having faster support ticket responses along with more proactive guidance on better configuration practices would greatly assist my team managing larger workloads.

My advice for others considering GoAnywhere MFT is that it is very powerful, and they should utilize the training provided by the vendors to maximize the use of the software. Additionally, it is essential to plan the workflows and security requirements before the purchase or implementation of this product. I would rate my experience with GoAnywhere MFT as an eight out of ten.
