Sumo logic saves significant time for developers

What do you like best about the product?
Query based log Search and the flexibility to convert them into dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no option to increase the no of results viewed per page.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Troubleshooting defects identified in production environment and lower environment
A soft level Health check on the application using dashboards created for errors.

Bringing Sumo to WA

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use, I often find it doesn't take me long to find things. Having watched Ryan demo a few times, I've recreated parts of what he did to set up production monitoring that I'm quietly confident in.
What do you dislike about the product?
Writing complex queries seems hard without attending certification.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Production issue monitoring has become much easier, especially when paired with a tracing solution.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's the market leader in terms of function and ease of use. Plus it being a SaaS outside of your AWS account means your ass is covered if the AZ or region goes down.

fast and easy way to review logs

What do you like best about the product?
Sumo's capability to review logs with the simplest syntax is one of the best features in the market
What do you dislike about the product?
nothing that I dislike in particular but it could improve by having a more user friendly Live Tail. Perhaps Live Filtering Live Tail?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
speed in reviewing loads of logs to identify defects in codes. Benefits include improvement in speed, easy of use in log search and faster identification of defects
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When dealing with large systems, Sumo provides a centralized way to review the logs for better defect tracking.

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to look at a timeline of actions across different servers. Being able to build dashboards that give us insight into customer patterns.
What do you dislike about the product?
Barrier for entry sometimes is high. Takes time to be able to build interesting queries and with so many filters things can be confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keep monitors of errors via dashboards. Provide a timeline of the life a session for Support to diagnose issues with our system.

Syntax took a bit (though not much) getting used to. Uploading one-off datasets is more obtuse than it needs to be.

What do you like best about the product?
The speed at which it runs, the easy UX for creating search queries, and the ease of simple features like parsing and filtering that makes it nice for beginners like me
What do you dislike about the product?
Visualizations don't feel super intuitive and how to group and chart information. Other data programs like reDash (just one example) feel easier to put together visuals.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking usage of features and products by our users (sports technology application is the company). This, along with troubleshooting bugs, finding error codes to diagnose customer problems.

What do you like best about the product?
The query syntax is like a simple functional language, and is quite intuitive to start using right away. The "parse" tool that lets you capture and parse strings might not seem like a big deal, but it saves you hours of mucking with regex captures.
What do you dislike about the product?
The visualizations could be better; it should be easier to accomplish things like making a bar cart bar change color based on value.

For instance, if I'm recording transaction rates on a line graph, I want anything above a certain number of transactions/second to be a red line.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been using it to monitor the health of applications running in production, including dashboards to visually monitor health and automated alerts. As well, it's easy to create attractive dashboards to share business metrics and reports which can be easily exported to feed Excel reports for management & business stakeholders.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
While there are free log analysis alternatives available on the market, consider that you often get what you pay for with monitoring solutions.
If you want to provide the best possible tooling to the people you are trust with one of the most critical functions of a tech team - making sure that your systems are running smoothly and protecting your revenue stream - give them Sumologic. This is a tool that will empower them to do their jobs and that they will enjoy using.

What do you like best about the product?
Setting up and integrating with environment was trivial (AWS, http sources). Great pre-canned dashboards. Query language learning curve is low and custom dashboards easy to set up.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some elements of the user interface could be improved, particularly regarding sharing dashboards and queries within organization (was initially kind of confusing).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring and compliance, . We've used Sumo Logic to do things like optimize network traffic, show coverage of monitoring agents, and aggregate log data to better monitor user interaction with deployed services.
