A critical tool for any GBS / Shared Service Organisation
What do you like best about the product?
Execution Apps- They are pre-built modules available in Celonis for various domanins like Procurement, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable etc. They allow us to deploy and customise solutions for any organisation. It allows us to benchmark ourselves with the industry leaders by tracking prebuilt KPI with set benchmarks. We could also define additional KPI's for the same. The apps actively monitors the various activities defined within the process and generates insights and action for users . This is powered by machine learning algorithms. This tranforms the way users operate from a reactive mode to a proactive mode.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel the Dashboarding, and the PQL is not very user-friendly. It is not as convenient as Power Bi, wherein you can establish a data relationship easily. and create dahsboards in a plug and play mode.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I primarily identify the Key KPI's that are required to be tracked and build dashboards for GIC's/GBS to monitor and track performance. Also, we use Celonis Execution apps on top of the existing workflow to generate insights and user actions. Also, we use Celonis to discover opportunities for automation and process improvement.

Setting up the data load for a non-standard process and with non-standard IT tools is quite challenging.

What do you like best about the product?
Celonis provides new forms of anaylsis to find new opportunities. We are able to utilize it to finally definitively calculate the cost of doing business and process inefficencies.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a new technology, Celonis (and process mining in general) has a steeper learning curve. In addition, the service has a few more outages or technical issues than the more mature cloud products. Lastly, the building and deployment of the technology requires specific and hard to find skill sets that may prove to be a challenge for some organizations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are currently using Celonis to find cost savings that we have overlooked with our standard processes such as underpayed invoiced and inefficient processes. We are also begining to use it to ensure that our service providers are actually meeting their stated process KPIs in their contractual SLAs.

Celonis as easy tool to visualize all our processes, no brownpaper anymore

The software helps us to get a holistic overview of all processes from different levels. E.g. we can drill down from a high-level management perspective up to very detailed accounting views

Nothing in particiular. As Celonis is quite a comprehensive tool, it takes some time until you are thoroughly familiar.

Mainly in finance
Process Analytics and Automation for everyone
What do you like best about the product?
Celonis is an excellent tool for any company, no matter the size, to show you where you can improve your processes. It's quick and easy to set up new views. There are over 400 out-of-the-box dashboards/views that can be uploaded in a single click by any user. You can connect to many systems and data sources to bring a more holistic view to your work. The Variant Explorer is one of my favorites as it allows you to see a visual of your process and all the variations within. The animation shows where you have rework loops and where the process is taking the most time. Switch between case view and throughput time with one click, and the system highlights your problem areas.
The online training is easy to use and allows for practice time in a different environment. Add in Automation and Machine Learning, and you have a very powerful tool to help you maximize the most from your business processes.
I also have to call out the Celonis team themselves. They are with you every step of the way and provide non-stop support. Great company and team to work with.

What do you dislike about the product?
I don't know that I can call anything out here right now. The hardest part for us was prioritizing what to work on first after seeing the results provided by Celonis and their team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We started with 2 Use Cases: Shipped Not Billed, and Shipped Not Recorded. What have we shipped and not billed due to various issues, and what have we dropped a delivery note for and have not Post Goods Issued. Our Pilot ran for approx 3 months. We realized millions of dollars in revenue recovery along with uncovering process gaps for issues that had previously been identified but with no root cause. Celonis helped show us where the real problems were so we could get them corrected. We were able to put some Action Engine Signals in place based on the new root causes identified.

What do you dislike about the product?
We often find that data analysts needs to make extensive changes that data engineers can do easily; but in my view there should be not such a distinction. There are business users that can create dashboards; and there are technical users that can create / adjust the underlying models

We have realized an estimated ~ 250k in benefits resulting from process optimization
