Great support with slick solutions

  • December 12, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It helps to manage MongoDB instances, but I loved every update and also in the short term. MongoDB Atlas is really easy with almost solution and because of I don't need any separate resource/person to manage my database instance. The community is also good with quick answers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Straight to the point, There is no proper role-wise access module, they need to improve that ASAP because it is blocking access to different projects as per the client's access.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MongoDB Atlas helps me to manage my client's database instances with all possible features and also I don't need a DevOps person to manage all this.

What do you like best about the product?
MongoDB Atlas enables us to store a whole database online as a JSON document and access it from anywhere, I particularly appreciate that the databases are NoSQL, which eliminates the need to utilize another dialect to access the data set, because MongoDB Atlas eliminates the need to establish time-consuming pipelines, there is no compelling incentive to create backend administrations, MongoDB Atlas has been useful for its full integration into applications; its recording allows applications to be developed faster and more securely; the ease of use is excellent; and the support for the professional version is also excellent; we use it to store a large amount of data that will be used in our daily calculations.
What do you dislike about the product?
We can't take a copy of all data from a cluster, and one element I despised was the requirement for me to whitelist my IP address on the MongoDB Atlas site in order to successfully link my application with the Mongo NoSQL database. The absence of structure is frustrating in the sense that more open source overlays in Mongo are required to make it viable for storing time series; Python dictionary support is also lacking.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using MongoDB Atlas to solve the data caching problem; the ease of use and performance gains have been noticeable; running MongoDB Atlas on data relocations is frequently an excellent alternative; I have used MongoDB Atlas for deployment marches, and the big stone monument of effort alters conditions. On a larger scale, having the ability to utilize Stitch as a backend for help makes quick and robust forwarding a beautiful experience, MongoDB Atlas enables collection construction with minimum effort, and MongoDB Atlas adapts fantastically to new fields as users alter sites.

Useful MongoDB Atlas for a beginner

  • December 05, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's very convenient for a beginner to step into this document-based database type.
We just have to have an account to explore.
We can deploy a free cluster.
What do you dislike about the product?
Join operations, common in relational databases, are not as straightforward in MongoDB.
Although we can denormalize data to some extent, there can be redundancy and potential inconsistencies in data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Challenge: Managing a MongoDB database can be complex, involving tasks such as deployment, configuration, scaling, and maintenance.
Benefits: MongoDB Atlas simplifies these tasks through a user-friendly interface, automating many aspects of database management. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals and organizations that want to focus more on application development than database administration.

What do you like best about the product?
It's very easy to use and connect to, and you can use your database for almost anything, I have never experienced any data loss or data issues, MongoDB Atlas is a premium database system, dynamically scalable, and extremely easy to use and im project to implement. We use MongoDB Atlas because it reduces cost and administration time, the best features are data protection, clustering, multi-region instances, and strong authentication and encryption features, MongoDB Atlas is fast, offers low-cost latency, and also offers a simple interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have anything to complain about; the only issues I've encountered were user mistakes when we initially started utilizing this platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is ideal for database management activities that require high speed; with NoSQL, you can produce records quicker than with SQL databases; with MongoDB Atlas, it is simple to connect backend; and we can store massive amounts of data customers securely. Instead of requiring an external framework for a search, such as elastic search, MongoDB Atlas provides Atlas search, which has numerous capabilities such as fuzzy search and is also efficient to use.

What do you like best about the product?
Since it uses a database, you don't have to worry about managing instances, networks, etc., Atlas also provides a minimal web interface that allows you to perform some actions on the data itself, the dashboard is very useful and I also use the alert system. The best part about Atlas is that you can choose where to place your servers from a list of cloud providers (Amazon, Google, etc.)., MongoDB Atlas is very useful for rapidly deploying applications, Atlas is ideal for development environments because it reduces computer load and the need to manage MongoDB. You can also connect through GUI applications such as Compass and filter connection requests, It is based on IP addresses, which increases security.
What do you dislike about the product?
In the dashboard, I would like better options to drill down into each database (some metrics are only available cluster-wide), security settings can be difficult to understand, and you also need better resources for working with data stored in your database. Helpful Web Interface Not the best I've ever seen, Mongo is a little slower because it's not available locally, but it can cache data you need frequently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This is our only database, and it allows us to have a very fast development cycle. MongoDB is simple to use and has excellent documentation, I've used MongoDB Atlas to store documents with data that can be accessed via my web APIs, the main benefit I've noticed is the ease with which my microservices can store data.

We required a cloud-based database so that my team could collaborate on the same database from different locations; MongoDB solves that problem, and the performance of the MongoDB Atlas cluster outperforms that of any other database service provider, using MongoDB cloud storage, data on the cloud makes the development environment more flexible, collaborative, and manageable.

What do you like best about the product?
It is straightforward, fast, and convenient to construct a cluster and launch your cloud database, and it also includes integrated tools for viewing the data you have in it. MongoDB Atlas is the greatest database host, with easy database management and creation, access control, VPC to your cloud, and profile analysis to optimize performance. MongoDB Atlas has a robust Logical Volume Manager (LVM) that converges our disk images from our on-premises environment to our cloud platforms, as well as great hashing algorithms that provide unique string identities for our addition operations check.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no guilt in utilizing MongoDB Atlas because its network partitioning is ideal for our distributed system failover circumstances. It provides multi-zone latency and availability, which eliminates asymmetric outages when nodes in our application cluster connect with one other, but I believe they should give at least one decent tool for viewing and modifying data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As part of our business requirements, we transfer our legacy and on-premises data storage to cloud platforms, and MongoDB Atlas enables legacy peer orchestration to guarantee a smooth transition to the cloud. Its cluster management and operability are excellent, and its point notation capabilities provide me with quick access to the pieces of our application while ensuring ultimate consistency across our distributed systems. I'm using MongoDB Atlas to utilize a NoSQL database in the cloud; I'm saving money by doing so because the pricing isn't too expensive. MongoDB also allows you to construct sandbox databases, which is useful for development and testing; it's a simple method to establish and maintain databases.

What do you like best about the product?
The real-time graph is fantastic; it offers detailed information about which tasks are taking too long to finish; also, the "Performance Advisor" is a useful feature that suggests ways to optimize the database structure. It is extremely simple and quick to integrate, from adding a new database to any project to adding new collections and altering and updating information, everything is very simple and fluid, and the best part is that there is no need to download any program, everything can be done on the internet. MongoAtlas includes the option to build an organization, so if you work on various projects with different individuals, you can create multiple organizations, each with its own set of parameters, such as who can manage or update, and so on.
What do you dislike about the product?
The database server occasionally breaks due to configuration changes, but the rest of the features are excellent. The login and authentication method in MongoDB Atlas is a disgrace; every time I shut and reopen the tab, it indicates login, but when I click login, I'm already signed in; I don't need the password again, and the UX is occasionally confused.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been using MongoDB Atlas in all of my full-stack projects and it's worked great so far. MongoDB Atlas is easy to integrate with any software and use, and the best part is that you don't need to download or configure anything; simply visit the MongoDB Atlas website, log in, and configure the entire database there. They have supplied me with a place where I can enter a link to a website where I am going to use it for security reasons, if the user is working on a little project, they do not need to host the mongo database locally or on AWS/GCP, simply use MongoDB Atlas for it.

What do you like best about the product?
It helps manage big data and database scaling, MongoDB in the cloud allows us to deploy the MongoDB database across multiple clouds and regions, it also provides a security feature. I really like the ease of use and the automatic query functions that are built in to relieve the developer's part in making the application and doing things that can be written with less code. It is excellent software that is used daily.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has a significant dependency on MongoDB databases, so we cannot integrate other databases like SQL, MySQL, or Oracle databases. In the free version of the database and the cost involved, the paid version seems to be a liter of the problem for the change of the application of the application.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The database is scalable using MongoDB Atlas, we implemented it because it offers high availability features, therefore, it replicates data across multiple servers within a cluster so that if one node fails, another takes over. By distributing data across several servers, it automatically handles horizontal scalability, ensuring high performance and availability without the need for user intervention. The database is geographically distributed, which allows data duplication in various parts of the world, enables disaster recovery, and facilitates compliance with data residency laws.

What do you like best about the product?
MongoDB Atlas provides a cloud-based instance for customers who are unable or unable to install it locally. Many open source programs that I've seen utilize it in their installation documentation since it offers 500 MB of free database storage with a point private ending. MongoDB Atlas enables us to establish our own environment with a 3-node cluster and select a cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, and so on. Clusters provide a very rich monitoring tool, where you can monitor the status of your servers, and Atlas provides us with ready-to-integrate alerting tools, where we can integrate our PagerDuty, opsginiey, and other third-party alerting tools, so that when an incident occurs, the person on duty is activated.
What do you dislike about the product?
MongoDB Atlas does not enable end users to reboot their cluster node if necessary; instead, we need always contact their support team if the node becomes stuck in the middle owing to a hardware issue. The price structure is one part of MongoDB Atlas that I believe might be a disadvantage. While it has many features and benefits, the cost of MongoDB Atlas might be greater than for other database options, especially for larger scale deployments or high-demand applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It uses MongoDB for database operations, and because the project is open source, new contributors frequently use MongoDB Atlas to set it up in their local environment. MongoDB Atlas is a DBAS Coud provider, offering complete solutions since the release of a new cluster with three nodes and the configuration with a backup and restore installation, so we don't need to write an additional program to maintain the backup or recovery at a specific time. The solution has an auto-scaling capability that will automatically scale up when the workload grows and scale down when the workload decreases. MongoDB Atlas also includes internal file solutions and the finest monitoring tool for the sector.
